Your waiting period start from the date you establish your residency in Ontario (date you have been landed). Your OHIP will be effective or you can start using your card on the 91st day of your residency.
(All periods are included)
You don't need to wait 3 months to apply, You can apply as soon you get any of above mentioned document. http://www.health.gov.on.ca/en/public/publications/ohip/ohip_waiting_pd.aspx

Hi Sathi,

1. Four Number of Family Members = Funds Required CAD $ 20,654.00 (as per CIC)
2. You can carry in any form, no restriction, for your own convenience it is better to carry few thousand cash and rest can be in the form of DD. ( 10-20 % cash and rest DD)
3. I'm not aware of wording, format or draft of experience letter which is used by Pakistani licencing authority. They do have some kind of form to fill up, you may check with your local licencing authority. It should be attested by Ministry of transportation and or Ministry of foreign affairs. If working abroad Pakistan embassy can't verify / you may get attestation from Pak embassy in Toronto:
4. Following information required:
Written confirmation is an original letter from the original licensing agency (such as the ministry of transportation in your country or state), or from the Embassy, Consulate, or High Commissioner's offices representing the country.

The letter must be:
• Written on official letterhead
• Written in English or French - If it is written in another language, you must submit a letter of translation from a qualified translator.
• Dated - It cannot be more than 6 months old.
This letter must include information about:
• The date first licensed
• Licence expiry date
• Class of licence
• That the licence was valid for the relevant period of time for the purposes of exchange and experience

Hi teejay,

You have to complete your landing formalities at Calgary – POE only not at Montreal.
“As a federal skilled worker, we can chose any POE in Canada & complete our landing formalities, irrespective of the destination mentioned in our Application/s or the COPR, except Quebec” [Montreal is in Quebec].

Hope that helps,

hmisabpk

I don't think so. I landed in Canada last year (September 2012) my route was Khi-Doha-Montreal-Calgary. My POE was Montreal, all my paperwork regarding the landing process, POF etc was done in Montreal. After that, when I arrived in Calgary, nobody asked me anything.. since it was a domestic flight. I just collected my luggage n made my way out of the Calgary airport.

So don't worry teejay, land in Montreal, process your immigration paperwork and get your connecting flight of Calgary. Nobody will ask you anything at calgary airport.

PS: Before booking my tickets last year, I asked the same question to qorax, below is his reply.
As long as u have an onward journey tkt to another province - Quebec a/ports will have NO ISSUES with u.

Hi Happycan,

1. The guidelines are very much same since few years. Bill -13 is the guidelines to deal with anti-bulling and other circumstances. It is has no impact on curriculum ( as explained by TDSB staff and Superintendent) the details are on link : http://ontla.on.ca/web/bills/bills_detail.do?locale=en&BillID=2549

a. School council newsletter and minutes of the meeting are available on Thorncliffe Park public school and School Advisory Council website
b. http://www.tpsac.ca/site/
c. http://schoolweb.tdsb.on.ca/thorncliffepark/Home.aspx

2. Quit easy – 40 hours training, multiple choice exam – in few weeks you will get your licence – starting wage is $ 11 to $ 12, for details check this link : Reply #595 http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/thousands-thousands-thousands-jobs-in-toronto-upcoming-job-fairs-t83858.0.html

3. Still there–(Thorncliffe/Leeside is the one of best place in Toronto: http://www.livingin-canada.com/best-places-to-live-in-toronto.html#leaside )

Hope that helps,

Hi samoo,

You don't need to do again academic IELTS, if you have done General for PR application (even expired)

This was my reply to smiler inquiry by PM ( name removed - content is same)

" If you are on PR, you will be considered as mature student. Many institutes are just wanted to know that mature students are capable of understanding the program and able to communicate in English or in French languages (if you are in Quebec). In addition, if your medium of study was in English and or you studied in English speaking country, than the college / university most likely to waive language test and will proceed with admission, (it will be depend on the assessment by admission counsellor / consultant)

However, if someone need English language proficiency test for admission. They can take any one from the below list.
• The college / University English Language test,
• Canadian Bench Mark,
• TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language)
• IELTS (International English Language Testing Service)

Some people I know them personally, had admission without language test.
Part time and online (continue education / academic upgrading) courses are more likely to waive language test requirements.

Below are the links of community (government) colleges and universities (Toronto city only), they don't ask for academic IELTS from mature students. You may check their admission requirement for your P.G study program, it may vary the language requirement.
