Hi, Tina,
Thank you for your kind appreciation.

You can book as soon possible, summer is a peak session and chances are many hotels will not have the available vacancies. Some hotel will ask you to pay initial deposit and some requires full payment. You can pay online by pay pal or visa it is quite save. You can also check directly with hotel staff if they have option of pay on arrival.

Hope that helps,

There are many service providers, if you need cell phone plan check,

If you are staying at basement apartment there will be signal problem,
so Fido or chartr will be best plan.

http://www.fido.ca/web/page/portal/Fido/MonthlyPlans,

Land line and home phone, many service providers are providing the services,
including internet connection and internet phone they are somehow cheap but,
some need to sign contact, quality and service are vary company to company.

Many net phone / VoIP phone also there but quality..?? Like ...

http://www.yesupnet.com/home-phone/,
http://www.rangtel.ca/,
http://www.torontotelecom.ca/,
http://www.webtelecomm.com/home-phone-service-pricing-order/,etc..

Some have the plan like mobilicity etc... add $ 20 unlimited to many contries including India,
some home phone plans are $ 30/month unlimited to 60 countries.
However, many people are using calling cards, value of $1 card will give you
120 – 140 minutes
in week expiry, so if $ 4-5 cards will be sufficient to call every day.
Why you have to waste $20-30 CAD every month, while you can manage with $5 / $6 per month
with mobile phone plan? other best one now days is top up card $ 6 , painless, save time, more minutes and best quality.

Now days everyone has messenger, gtalk and sykpe that give you free calling features.

Hope that helps, :)

Nice info. I guess Dialr is great and cheap from toronto for VoIP calls to india and most places

Hi ,

I have 3 questions:

1. Do we have to declare the entire amount of gold that we own or do we just have to declare the gold that we will be carrying along with us ? Do we have to carry the gold in hand baggage or check-in baggage ? Do v have to declare the value of gold which we will be wearing at time of landing ?
2. Do we have to pay landing fees ?
3. At the time when we had applied for PR, the funds requirement was 13000 CAD but now for the new applicants its 14000 CAD. Do we also have to show 14000 CAD as per the new rules or 13000 CAD is fine ?

Hi,

One more question:

We are sending a parcel which will contain my old books and used clothes on my friend's name at his address. Is it necessary to mention these items in B4A form (Goods to follow) ?

Hi Hmisabpk,

I just read this informative thread (though not completely) and I was wondering that since you must be in Canada for 2 years now, how settled are you and your family?
Did you get a decent job related to your profession? R ur kids and family settled well? How is your lifestyle as compared to your home country?

Reagrds,

With reference to B4 form:

STEP-2:
a) Place all jewelry in Groups* & click Pictures [Must, else they'll not be accepted].
b) Title each Sheet. And put a Page No.
c) Take printouts of each Jewelry Group in A4 size paper [2 copies].
d) Make an Excel Sheet, for the Summary of the Jewelry Sheets. And place a Value against each group.
e) Total the Excel Sheet Value, in the end.

*Eg. 1.Rings, 2.Bangles & Bracelets, 3.Chains & Necklaces, 4.Cummerbunds, 5.Diamond Sets, 6.Ear-Rings & Pendants, 7.Head-Bands & Chokers etc. (each in one group/sheet). [the Title Heading can vary as per your choice & requirement]

Does this include artificial jewellery also or only gold n diamond?

Hi, Kg_bang,

1.Only what you are carrying with you, in hand bag, yes all jewellery must be declared, value must be in Canadian dollars,
2.No - You have paid already ( when you submitted your PP for visa)
3.Any one will be fine and will be acceptable. (preferred the new figure)

You have to use B4a form for your goods to follow.
