Hi hmisabpk,

Nice to know you.

We plan to move to Canada as well. My family consists of 5 people; 3 kids, my wife and me. I plan to land alone, without my family at the beginning. I dont have any relatives in Canada, so I need to find accomodation for 1 person upon arrival. I plan to embark my family only after having stable work. If I bring my family once I get "only survival" I am afraid we will not be able to survive along together eventhough I plan to land with extra money along with me (I think cad 12000 will not suffice)

I read your first post about landing in Canada in which I see that your family would come 2-3 weeks later. I was wondering :
- how much money we can earn in a survival job
- what kind of survival jobs newly landed person can get
- and how easy to get a survival job.

btw, how many people you have in your family....

Please share.

Thanks.

Hi,
Qeubecois2012,
You are right it will be hard to manager with 12K, If you get the stable work then it won’t be survival job any more. By the time you will go back and bring your family, may be the same job will not be available for you. You can arrange accommodation, join some of survival job and ask your family to land within few weeks or few months’ times. Leaving family back home you have to manage double expenses. Your kids will miss the school in Canada, you have to pay back home their education, health and daily expenses, and also you will not get Child care benefit (CCTB & UCCTB) and other children education grants (check link under my signature) from government of Canada if your family will not be with you.
With survival job you will be not able to save much, send money back home and manage your own expenses.
My circumstances were different.

Regarding your job queries it is highlighted in my post. It will be the repetition in same thread.
Please see the reply # 466, 484 and 493 in same thread and reply # 287 in following thread. http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/thousands-thousands-thousands-jobs-in-toronto-upcoming-job-fairs-t83858.0.html

Hi hmisabpk,
dear what are the chances of getting a job offer in home country after getting PR in hand?
Hi, abhishekgoel007,
The chances of getting job in home country after getting PR are the almost same as before getting the PR. Having a good chance to get job in home country or in Canada , It is depend on your profession, education, experience, skills, resume, cover letter, research approach, recruitment agencies, recruiting consultant or company, and most important is your lack and prayers.

Hope that helps, :)

Hey Abhishek....i guess the answer still is the same....it depends on your experience, canadian qualifications, etc. I would suggest you to start looking out for a job and start signing up with all the online consultants. The CIC site itself has a link to search for jobs.

I would also suggest you to look for an oppurtunity to move from within your current company (if possible), so that things are smooth.

Use keywords like 'jobs' on this forum and see what all options you get.

But the bottom line (from my experience in this forum) is that a Canadian Education is a must to succeed. So i am hunting for information on that. If anyone gets information on what it consists, how to take them, how much do they cost, etc. it will be really helpful.

Well nicholas30, from most of the people that have spoken their experiences on this forum, i have seen this common thing - relevant canadian education. they have suggested that it would be better to study something which is in line with the existing profile that an individual holds. and this must be a canadian recognised education. i guess some certifications, courses, etc. but i still am unable to figure that out.

people have mentioned that although they had enough experience and education, they had tough times getting through job offers due to the lack of canadian education.

Hi himisabpk, It is really so informative to read your landing experiences in Canada. I would like to request few information to clear up my doubts about the situation over there. I came to know from a forum that the job opportunities are very tight and people are in queue to secure a survival job. Is it right? Also the living expenses are too high compare with USA. How about to start a hotel business there? I think you are in a business field. If you don't mind Which is your line of business? I shall appreciate if you could find some time to reply my questions.

Thank you very much for your assistance.

Best regards,
