My son (5 years old) visitor visa expired but my visitor visa is still valid. Now I am not sure how to apply for him. I already have my visa valid till 2021 and his expired in 2018. The last time I was the principal applicant and my son was dependent but this time I don't know if I can make my son as principal applicant.
Can I fill an application with my name as principal applicant and son as dependent family member and on the optional letter I can explain the situation ?
I am really confused.

You need to submit an application with him as the applicant. You cannot put yourself as the applicant.

You must apply for a new visa for your son from scratch.

He is a minor and he cannot apply on his own nor as a principal applicant. You will be applying as a parent on his behalf.... this means you will sign his forms (electronically, if you apply online).

He does not need to give his biometrics

ok thanks for the information, so does that mean I have to create my son CIC LOGIN credentials and apply his visa OR Can I use my CIC account login and fill his information in the application ?

ok, In the section "Find out if you are eligible", I added all of my information (like my date of birth etc) and in the question about "family members", I added my son info. Now the issue is, the page shows up where I have to upload documents. CIC is asking me to upload my documents and also my son documents. I am not sure if I should submit my docs. Seems like it is an new visa application for me also. Am I suppose to submit my docs ?

One more thing, When I fill 5257e form for my son, there is a section for "Employment". What to write in that section ? I cannot skip that as this section is mandatory.
