My job interview

I am foreign Worker in Canada. I am attending series of interview for past 2 weeks. This one felt like 'Ok' to me, But I got this reply:

What does it mean ? I think my interview went very well. We had a long chat for around a hour.

"As promised, here’s a follow-up concerning the interview you had with us on Thursday. Unfortunately, the team didn’t make a decision yet since we have other candidates they wish to meet before they give a final answer. Hopefully I’ll be able to confirm within the next few weeks.

Please let me know if you have any question.

Thank you,"

It means what is says it means. They haven't finished interviewing all of the candidates for the job opening and will get back to you once all of the interviews have been completed.

In my experiences, any time they mention "other candidates" that means not you.

I think that sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't.

There was a job I was recently hiring for where for a number of reasons, it took me over a month to complete all of the first round interviews. I actually sent a very similar email to a few of the candidates when they asked for updates. The honest truth in that case was that I hadn't finished the interviews. (The person who ended up getting hired was one of the first I interviewed.)

However in some cases it might mean they are going in a different direction.

Anyway - nothing can be done at this point but to wait and see.

Ya that's true though. At this point, only thing I can do is to wait and see. I hope I would be that first candidate. ;D

If it was HR that followed up with you then this is a standard answer they are sending everyone who has interviewed for the job.
