While I'm waiting for response from immigration regarding our application for Permanent Residence which was submitted last August 2010. I would like to ask some questions about this case.. I'm working as a live-in caregiver in Quebec. my husband working in Qatar and our children staying in Philippines under guardian of my parents. I'm planning to take my vacation on Feb next year and I want to bring my children in Qatar (as my husband wish) so they can be together until they will get the papers approve. Should i make request to the immigration that all processing or corresponding letters should be forwarded and done to Qatar only and even the medical? We dont have enough money if ever the immigration will say need to go back to Philippines to done the medical and leave from point of origin. Airfares are too expensive. My kids are so small (5 and 3 y/o) and still yearning to have parents with them. :'( Hope you will give me some advice for possible consequences... Thank you.

is your visa office Manila? or Buffalo?

as far as I know, medicals can be done anywhere. so yung kids mo, they can do their medicals in Qatar and your husband as well, you just need to make sure that there is a Designated Medical Practitioner(DMP) near where they will live.

check this: http://www.cic.gc.ca/dmp-md/medicalinfo.aspx?CountryID=2026&CountryName=Qatar

in cases like this, the results of their medical exam will be sent to CIC Immigration Health Services in Ottawa (they need to mention this when they go and have their medical exams done). Then once your visa office needs the results, they will request it from Ottawa. I had a somewhat similar situation with you, our visa office was Buffalo but my daughter and I are still here in the Philippines. we had our medicals done here and the DMP sent the results to Ottawa.

I'm a little confused? Did your husband and children complete the medical before the application was submitted?
