I work in Canadian embassy as an interpreter and in this country the Canadian embassy resettles refugees permanently. I(female) met a guy 8 months ago in this country who is refugee and we developed a very serious relationship and we got married couple of weeks ago. But he told me a good news that he will be attending his resettlement interview for Canada after few months and as I mentioned above I will be the one who will be interpreting in the embassy if he comes there, but I will inform the embassy ppl when his interview appointment date is closer so that they arrange another interpreter. Here is my question:

1. He suggested me that he wants me to be unified in his application at the time of interview?
2. He wants me to be resettled along with him to Canada though I am not a refugee here in this country?
3. What requirements do they need from me and from my husband? Though we are from different category: he is a refugee but I am not? Will it make any difference for us?
4. What can we expect from the VO at the time of interview? And what documents do we need to present to the VO to fulfill the requirements?

Your advices and suggestions please.
Thanks

1. He has to amend his application immediately to show that he is married, and you have to complete an application as well.
2. His refugee claim may have problems, as married to you, he may be entitled to reside in your country.
3. Tell your boss NOW that you are married to him. If you don't there is a good chance you may find yourself without a job.

First of all thanks for the reply...................
1. I do work in the embassy but i work as an external interpretor and i go to the embassy when they call me so i am not earning enough money to support my husband and my own life since i am student here .
2.Do you think only getting married to me can make him reside here in this country ? ........he is already a refuge who have no document except the unhcr document.
3.yeah i will inform my boss but please let me know more about ur opinion .......if it can make problems for my husband then i dont want him to loose his chance of going to canada and i also dont want to loose him and leave me alone here in this country.

1. Since I don't know what country you are residing and anyhow would probably have no knowledge of that countries Immigration Act, that is something that you will have to look into.
2. If he does not include you in his application, then he can't never sponsor you to Canada as a member of the family class. Also if he "lands" in Canada, claiming to be single, he has committed misrepresentation an is subject to removal.
