SO MY FRIEND GOT MARRIED IN 2013 SHE IS PR.....SHE IS SPONSORING HER SPOUSE INLAND.
THEY RECENTLY RECEIVED THEIR LETTER FOR LANDING INTERVIEW DATE WHICH IS A WEEK AND A HALF FROM NOW.
SHE RECENTLY FOUND OUT THAT HE HAS BEEN CHEATING ON HER AND SHE WISHES TO DELAY OR NOT ATTEND THE LANDING INTERVIEW AS SHE THINKS SHE DOES NOT WANT TO BE WITH HIM ANYMORE BECAUSE HE CHEATED ON HER.

ADVICE PLEASE

Since he hasn't landed yet, I believe she can still cancel the sponsorship.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=732&top=14

She can also call CIC and report that she would like to cancel.

THANKS

SHE WAS SAYING THAT SHE CANT FORGIVE HIM RIGHT NOW BUT WHAT IF THE LANDING DATE PASSED AND SHE DECIDES TO CHANGE HER MIND ABOUT SPONSORING HIM AGAIN, COULD SHE?

Then tell her she should seriously think twice about sponsoring a cheater. Sponsorship is a big responsibility, it's not something that should be taken lightly. She will be responsible for any welfare or government assistance he collects, for 3 years. If he's already willing to cheat on her, that's probably a big red flag that he's just in it for the PR card.

She shouldn't be naive, especially since she's got the ability to cancel the sponsorship

what's the best way to go about canceling the sponsorship?

call cic before his landing date?
dont show up to the landing then inform cic that they are separated?

I am not sure which is best for her

Fill out the form on the link I provided first of all, then she can call and cancel the appointment. If he shows up at the interview, he may get PR. Did the letter state the spouse is to attend?

she says he does not know about the landing interview since the corresponding is through her email so he doesn't know he is scheduled

should she just let the date pass by?

That's a very risky approach. There's ways for him to find out about the interview. If he successfully lands, she's financially responsible for him for three years.

The smart and responsible move is to contact CIC to cancel the application and withdraw her sponsorship.

It sounds like this is an Inland applicant, correct?

If so, the sponsor is suppose to attend the landing interview to verify that they still agree to sponsor, however...we've heard from a few Inland applicants that their sponsor did not come with them and they were still able to land. That's scary!
