I am a Canadian born citizen sponsoring my wife from outside of Canada.
My friend has agreed to allow me to stay at his place as a proof the immigration officer that I am going to move to Toronto Ontario. He will provide me with a "rental agreement" and a letter stating that my mailing and residential address will be ______.
Now since I will have a rental agreement which will start around May 2011, will I still have to provide a work letter since I will need income to pay the rent, or can he state in a separate letter that when I arrive, he will not charge me for at least two months to allow me to find a job. Would that be good enough???

You might want to state your intentions in finding a job in your particular field. Or use a web job service site (monster.com, etc) to find and apply for jobs in the area. Chance are not good you'd actually be offered a position, but at least you could demonstrate that you are looking for one. Good luck with your application. Allison

What Proof do I print out from the job site I am looking in???

I was thinking just the job description and your cover letter to the employer. If you get any acknowledgements or "thanks but no thanks" letters in return before you submit your app include those as well. My partner (when he was trying to move to the US to be with me) sent me all the jobs he applied for and copies of the letters/emails he got requesting interviews etc. We included these in my app for PR to Canada as proof that we had been trying to be together for several years. Maybe this would work for you as well to help prove your intention to move to Canada once the PR is approved. Just a thought...

Either would be fine. If you can find a job, provide evidence. If not, the letter from your friend would be great.
As the previous poster suggested, also provide evidence you have been looking for work.
