Hi All,

Need urgent information, I am in Canada on a closed work permit with my family, my daughter is school going. My wife got open work permit however by the time she got the work permit, she was pregnant and she didnt do any job or applied any where. We later got to know that we are expecting twins, so we decided that I will apply alone in express entry as its difficult for my wife to manage 3 kids (2 new borns and 1 daughter alone) so she was planning to go back to home country so she gets helping hand to raise them.

I spoke to one of the lawyer and he mentioned that there could be issues by the reviewing officer as why I applied alone and not with family?

any one in the same boat, has same experienced please let me know??

Thanks

You have to apply with them although they can be non-accompanying. There isn’t an issue of stating they are non—accompanying if they live abroad.

You need to disclose your family members. But they can be non-accompanying. (i.e. they will not get their COPR/land when your PR is approved)
BUT they need to be included (medical, biometric, background, police check..etc)
You can later on apply to sponsor them.

Just to clarify, my family is with me in Canada and not back home. Could this create a challenge or a question why I didnt include my family?
