Hello, everyone here

I applied my work permit online.

Last week, My emailbox receives an email that says "there is an updated message in your CIC account". However, when I logged into my CIC account, I have not seen anything there until now. Anybody encountered the similar issue? What can I do right now?

The message is not sent to your CIC account. It is filed under your application, which sits inside your CIC account.

To see the message, you should login to MyCIC, then look for "View my submitted applications" and "Check status and messages".

Good luck!

Thank you for your reply!

I checked the "check status and message", and didn't see any new message. That's why I came here to ask. If I received the reminder in my emailbox about the update message, then something should be there when I checked " check status and message".

no, but we filed applications at around the same time so I'm hoping you probably got a passport request already - which would mean hopefully that my application is next to be processed.

When did you submit your application. I submitted on May 11th. How about you?

flowerfly - his application is for a TRV. work permits usually take longer. there's still no word? The consulate said they are processing mid-March applications.

I received the message from consulates that they request my passport mail to them today.

Now I am working on that. Below is the required materials:

"You must submit your passport at the visa application centre (VAC) in New York

Canadian Visa Application Centre – New York
290 Madison Ave, 2nd Floor
New York, NY 10017
USA

This can be done by mail or in person.

With your passport(s), make sure you include:

The passport request letter you received from CIC
Any applicable VAC fees, such as passport transmission fees
Full contact information, including a phone number and your full return address
The VAC consent form
A pre-paid return courier envelope, if applicable
Check the website of the New York VAC for all requirements and more information. "

Do we need to use VAC service to mail the passport to them? I am relatively confused with the statements in New York VAC website.

How much do I need to submit and how can I submit? I applied my work permit online. Is there a clear instruction for how to mail the passport to them?
