My EE application timeline - Thank you everyone

Today my cic status was updated to approved. Thank you everyone in the forum, thank you for the precious information and help I received from you guys. Below is my whole application timeline, just want to share it with those still waiting. Do not lose hope!

Here we go:

December 2017: Got really upset about the president, future of H1b is doomed. Even though my priority date is only half year away. Started thinking of the best alternative - Canada! Went online and found the most recent IELTS exam was on Jan 20,2018. While preparing the exam I also asked my parents in China to get police certificates etc.

Jan 20, 2018, Took the IELTS, feeling pretty good except writing. Didn't really have time to prepare writing.

Somewhere in February I received my IELTS score - 9, 7.5,7.5, 7. Got lucky with the writing. With this IELTS score, my final CRS score was 448. I could have extra 20 points buy my wife did not bother to take IELTS and had her degree verified.....

March 23, 2018 Police certificates lost in mail. Thank god I have a scanned copy...WES takes two months.

March 26, 2018 ITA received.

April 13, 2018 Submitted all the documents and received AOR.

April 30, 2018 Medical passed. Medical exam was really expensive in NJ. So I went to a doctor in Chinatown in Manhattan. Still cost around $600 for three of us.

May 22,2018 No updates, nothing. Got upset and spent $30 for GCMS.

June 19, 2018 Still nothing, but I received the GCMS note. Did not expect the "note" actually had more than 120 pages. While I was reading through the hundred pages something caught my eye and it said "File approved and RFV ", and it was dated on May 8th. But did not receive anything, what's going on??? Finally I decided to send an email to CIC, thanks for the suggestion I got on this forum.

June 22, 2018 Three days later I received a message in myCIC account asking for passport. We sent the passports but they were rejected and sent back to us later because of the wrong photo size. Damm, the guy in Costco assured me that this was the right size....I went back to Costco and was told they do not do Canada passport photos anymore...
That was so messed up and I got the photos in Walgreens, they had the right size but could not cut it. So I scissored the photos by myself, you will need a pair of steady hands to do this.

July 12, 2018 Today the status in myCIC finally changed to case approved. I assume they update this once they sent back my passport. Waiting for it!

Again, thank you guys for all the help and information in this forum. We are looking to land by the end of this year and we are thinking to settle down in Ottawa.

Many congratulations gg9868!!!

Had a few queries while filling in the PR application(In response to ITA):

1)for education documents do we just upload the final degree/diploma document or do we also need to provide for mark sheets and transcripts (though they are not being asked for).

2)the list does not ask to upload ielts and eca reports, is that fine?

3)for POF only the letter is asked not the 6 months bank statements. Is that fine?

4)where should I upload the LOE? there is no separate link provided.

5)i was employed with the same company for 8 years but took a break to work from home and a extended maternity leave- all of that is mentioned in a single reference letter. But in the document checklist, it shows ‘5 different employment records’ against each of the job status as picked up from my EE profile. Can I put the same reference letter in all of them and explain the same in the LOE?

Congrats! Couple of question..
How did you send mail to CIC and did you just ask for status or you told them that you order GCMS notes?

I did not send transcripts in response to ITA. I did send transcripts to WES though. Remember you need to translate the diploma if it’s not in English
Or French.

Please follow the list of items requested by ITA letter. I honestly cannot recall whether I sent them or not, however, I do remember providing the number on IELTS report and WES report.

No, you will need the letter issued by the bank stating the current balance and average balance. The letter needs to be signed by a bank official too. I can actually see the visa officer quoted my bank letter to verify the fund in my GCMS note.

There is a separated category for you upload extra documents.

I have two different positions in the same company. My HR included them both in one letter. And I just uploaded the same letter twice to each employment experience. Remember you need to provide the required information for each position.
