So you mean your dad became a Canadian citizen 3 years after you were born in which case you do not currently qualify for citizenship off your dads status as a citizen. Your dad would have needed to have been a citizen before you were born for you to have have a chance to qualify.

What is your status now are you living in Canada as a permanent resident or in your home country still and not a PR. You need to become a PR first .

You would need to become a PR first and then follow that path to citizenship. Assume then that your mother was not a Canadian before you were born ?

As others have said, you have no claim to citizenship since your father became a citizen after you were born. He would need to sponsor you for permanent residency. Once you became a PR and had lived in Canada for a number of years, you would then qualify to apply for citizenship.

If your father is not willing to sponsor you for PR, you will need to look into applying for PR on your own once you have completed school, have at least a year of full time paid work experience (preferably in a skilled occupation) and meet the other criteria to apply. You can find information about Canada's immigration programs here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/index.asp I would start by researching the Express Entry program.

Note that once you turn 22, your dad will no longer be able to sponsor you for PR. So you must have him submit a sponsorship application in before that time.
