My BWOP got accepted but my wife didnt, please help

Hi guys,
Sour news today, we got our BWOP letters, mine was approved, but it says that my wife has to leave Canada till December 6 because her passport will expire that day, she already applied for a new passport last week and will be ready soon.
Any of you was in same situation before?
What are the options? Apply for a visitor permit while our PR is in process, or is there any way to call cic, show prove of new passport and apply again for BOWP for her?
Help us with your knowledge please.

To be more accurate
In the letter it doesn't say anywhere it was denied.
It says that the original WP is renewed starting on 2015/10/13 (last week) and it will expire 2015/12/06 (same as the passport expire date)
"Remarks:
temporary resident status maintained as per R183(6)
Passport must be renewed"
It is just a limited time work permit, the new passport was done last week, I thought it will be ready tomorrow, but can't be sure.
My hopes are that with the new passport, we will be able to fix this.

Should not be a problem to apply for a spouse open work permit (sowp) for her once she has a new passport. She is eligible for sowp as long as you have wp which is valid for 6 months or more.
Work permit can't have expiration date which is after expiration date of the passport.
