Hey all,
My brother applied for TRV for third time to attened a compitition in Canada.

He applied a bit late (Aug 16) and the compitition is on sep 21st which is next week.

If he resieve passport request even today he cant make it by next week. Anyone know if he will be refused for TRV as he has been invited for compitition and he applied late? Processing time in cic for Iranian is 35 days.

Any one have same expriance?

Thanks.

He can be issued the visa even after the intended travel date has passed. Whether he will get the visa is anybody’s guess.

Thank you. Even if his invitation is only to attebed the compitition, and the compitition is only once a year ?

What kind of competition is he applying for? Given your family is from Iran there are likely concerns that your family will apply for asylum and that is one of the reasons your family has been denied in the past.

Bodybulding compitition by IFBB. He is shampion of state and invited to the compitition however my othrr brother is Canadian citizen

Lol... you really didn’t get the question. What type of visa did he travel with to Canada?

I did but really doesnt matter the type of visa he immigrated to canada. My friend went as a refugee to canada but he invited all her family to canada and all got visa since 2017. AND by landed immigrant i mean he immigrated to canada ligally.

Btw my question is nothing to do with my brother status in canada and the way he immigrated. I asked if some one invited to canada to attened a compitition, and he has the compitition invitation and sponsership letter from his gymnasium in Iran on his file, still will get the visa if the compitition date pass?? Conserning that his brother also live in canada as a citizen.

By brother application is under processing and he invited to attened a compitition in Sep 20th which he can not reach to canada by that date for sure.

Yes, it certainly does matter. 99% of the time, TRVs are not granted to family members of those who came to Canada as refugees. If your friend's family received TRVs, they were extremely fortunate.

How your other brother came to Canada will impact this brother's application

Ok, but if his date of compitition passed, do you think my brother still have chance of getting visa? The invitation and most of his document he submited focus on his championship.

As I said in your other thread, given your brother came to Canada as a refugee, your chances of approval are very low.
