Hello experts

I have read on a few threads so far about cases where people were successful in getting multiple extensions to stay longer on the visitors visa for themselves/ their family members.

I hae a few questions here for people with experience or inputs:

1. Did you guys do the process yourself? I mean apply yourself online or on paper? Or did you consult an immigration consultant? For every extension application or what?

2. Can someone please share some reasons mentioned in these extensions that were approved? For each one of them?

3. What all documents did you submit for these multiple approved extensions?

4. Any other useful insights please?

Thanks in advance.

1. Do it yourself.

2. Your reasons are your own.

3. The checklist tells you what is required.

Thanks for your reply.

But my intent behind posting this thread to read about some real experiences. What you have mentioned is probably by the book. I am trying to know people's experiences and insights. My take- one never knows everything. And I don't want to mess my process. Hence, wanting to learn from people's success or failure stories.

I for one have applied twice to extend status. And the second time I was given an extension for 1 year (I had a dual intent - to submit a PR application, although I had not yet submitted it at that time due to difficulties with getting a PCC from one of the countries I lived in, which I explained). As others have mentioned the reasons are your own. Some who applied to extend visitor status and stated a dual intent while they had not submitted a PR application had their applications rejected. I think it depends on how you state your reasons/purpose of staying in Canada, why you are not going back home, proof of ties back home (showing you have a home to go back to and you have the intent of going back home when your status expires or if your application is not approved, having enough funds that will convince them that you wont be a burden and will not have to work illegally (staying in Canada for a long time as a visitor might imply that you are working illegally)

I am applying for visit visa extension of my Parents. They have 5 years multiple visit visa (6 Months per visit) expiring in 2023.

They have arrived Canada in March 2019 and their stay expiring in September 2019 (6 months). I am thinking to apply for their visa extension (visitor record).
but I am worried,
If applying for visit visa extension today, will effect their visa application in 2023 (if I apply for another multiple visa in 2023).

Others can comment as well but no reason why a single extension should make any difference to any new visa application in 2023. All they need to do is to ensure they leave when they are supposed to and all should be fine .

Maybe consider a super visa valid for 10 years if they intend to be frequent extended stay visitors
