Hi,
My wife (Nicaraguan citizen) and I (British citizen) are currently residing in the UK and wish to visit Nicaragua this summer. We have found some flights that pass via Canada and were hoping to stop there for a few days before continuing. We were going to apply for a single visit visa but if we take this route we will have to transit back via Canada 2 weeks later. Does that mean we need a multiple entry visa and if so is there less chance of this being issued compared with single entry?
Additional info: my wife is currently on a 2 year UK spouse visa that will expire about six weeks after we return, obviously she will then apply for residency but I'm not sure if the close expiry date will be seen negatively. She also overstayed a US tourist visa 10 years ago and we are unsure what effect this will have. We would really like to visit Canada but don't want to go through all the hassle of applying if rejection is likely. Thanks in advance for any comments.
