Hello Members,

My dad is here on visitor visa and I got a Visitor Visa Extension from CIC for 2 years for him. It is in a form of a paper permit. I understand that we can send in his passport and have a multiple entry visa stamped on his passport since i already have an extended stay permit for him.

I need to know where should i send in the application form and documents to. I mean to which address. Would it be CPP-Ottawa or somewhere else.

Also what documents do i need to send in. Appreciate your help well in advance.

Thanks

If your father is here on a single entry visitor visa, then you will need to submit a new application to request a multiple entry visitor visa. You cannot convert a single entry to a multiple entry. You have to apply again from the start. The process for applying for a multiple entry is the same as applying for a single entry - except that you request a multiple entry visa.

Thanks a lot for your reply Scylla. I do understand that however my concern is which visa office should i submit the application to. My father is already here in Canada but i am confused if it has to be sent to CPP-Ottawa or somewhere else ?

Also do i need to submit all the documentations again like the invitation letter, his job letter, financial information in the home country etc OR should the Visitor Visa Extension permit be enough to support the application.

Thanks

Home country, but he has to leave Canada thus will lose the 2 year extension. He can go back, apply multiple, come back, get 6 months and u can try to get 2 year again

But I don't get it, why u want Multiple while he already has 2 year extension. ?

Hi
How long did it take for you to receive the extension? I applied for one end of Oct but haven't heard anything yet. I don't have a reference no. so unable to check. I gather they are just looking at applications rec'd in September so perhaps it's not yet time for me to hear anything. Also, did you receive the permit in the mail? What kind of visa did your dad has as if it's expired yes he would need to apply for a new one by supplying all the relevant documentation.

Dear "scylla",
I have read almost all your comments in several pages and it seems that you are an expert. My case is little complicated and actually it is related to my wife. I am a Canadian PR but my wife is not. She really has no intention to be PR and I will leave Canada after one year. She already travelled to Canada on Student Visa, she did not like it and left after two weeks. Her "multiple" visa is still valid until April 2014. I asked her to come and visit me for 3 weeks in summer. We applied for a visitor visa for her (multiple) and it was refused within 5 days... the reason was only "Purpose of Visit". Now I want to reapply for her right away writing an explanation letter that her "purpose of visit" is as it is!! it cannot be changed etc... however, I am not sure to make it single entry or multiple again... there are more details... I am giving you my email since I could not find your. I am ready to pay for your advice as well if you don't mind... Please contact me asap and I look forward to hearing from you possibly before Monday April 8, 2013.
