MULTIPLE entry question

We currently applied for a visitor visa and we are granted a multiple entry but my parents and sister validity is 5 years and
I am the only one with 1 year validity. Can I call and ask the embassy about it?
can you tell me what are the factors they consider when giving a visa with 1 year validity?

although we apply at the same day with the same reasons which is for pleasure.
Our passport is also currently renewed so that won't be an issue.
