I have 2 applications in flight with CIC. In spite of sending them an email to cancel 1 application (Inland Spousal Sponsorship Paper Application), it was never canceled.

The first one is FSW Express Entry as a single application (before marriage),
  • AOR - December 2018,
  • Got married to a Canadian PR - Nove 2019
  • Re- medical done - August 2020
  • No decision made yet - PPR not received
The second one is the Spousal Permanent Resident application, along with a work permit (after 6 months of marriage)
  • Applied in July 2020
  • Sponsorship Acknowledgement received - Feb 2021
  • Medical Request received - Mar 2021
My questions are as follows:
1. Should I send the Same Medical receipt which I have for express entry (Not expiring till Aug2021) to Inland Spousal Sponsorship and see if they are able to progress my PR?
2. Did anyone come across a similar situation? What is the best path forward here?

Note:
My Express entry PR application is stuck at the New Delhi visa office and GCMS notes suggest it's awaiting final review since Sep2020. There has been no progress in spite of emails and letters from my Local MP to the immigration minister's office. I think it's viable to have a Spousal sponsor PR application be progressed in the meantime.

Looking forward to advice from experts.

When you sent them an email to cancel the spousal sponsorship application, did you submit the form that is specifically required to withdraw an application or did you just email them?

Eventually IRCC is going to ask you to pick one of these applications.

No, I didn't submit the form to withdraw. Currently, I am good to receive PR through any of these applications, because it's more than 2.5 years of waiting.

I mention that because you wrote this:

Without a signed request to withdraw, your application will not have been cancelled. Though these processes take a while, it may randomly be cancelled.
