Hi akshays136,

I also applied at McGill - M.Eng. - ECE (Thesis). Maybe you should email a supervisor and have your profile assessed? It's been said that if a supervisor is willing to take you in, then your chances of getting admission will become higher.

Hi akshays136,

I only applied at McGill so I'm not sure about the minimum qualifications for the others. As long as you meet the minimum requirements, go ahead and apply, and contact a supervisor who's works are aligned with your chosen research area. It helps if you mention what you want to get out of the masters degree. Your email must contain details on why you're interested in the program, what you've done at work or in your previous studies that has pushed you to pursue higher education. Make it short and respectful. For me, I mentioned my specific interest in wearable computing and my chosen supervisor who's been publishing papers on computers replied saying that I got his attention and he's looking forward to reviewing my application. Of course, it's not a guarantee for admission but at it would certainly help your chances.
