Hello Harsh,

We do have a Master of Computer Science program that provides students with a Master of Science Degree. You can find specific information about the program here:
http://www.unbc.ca/graduateprograms/programs/mcps.html

As you requested, the fees for this program for Full-time studies is: $1,435.18 per semester and that would be for international students as well. There are other student fees associated with your attending the university however and I would encourage you to visit this link for more information: http://www.unbc.ca/finance_dept/accounts_receivable/fees.html#Graduate

To apply or September you had have had to submit your application prior to February 15. You can still apply or entry into the January Intake and that application deadline is September 15th.
When you are ready to apply you can visit this link here: http://www.unbc.ca/graduateprograms/prospective/apply.html

Harsh, I will also advise that there is an English Language requirement.
English is the primary language of instruction and communication at UNBC. Consequently, it is expected that an applicant be able to demonstrate an acceptable level ofproficiency in the use of English in order to receive and participate in classroom instruction and discussion as well as to complete written assignments.

Applicants whose first language is not English, regardless of citizenship or country of origin, must submit evidence of English Language Proficiency prior to admission. French-speaking Canadians and Canadian First Nation language speakers are exempted from this requirement. Students who completed five consecutive years of instruction and examination entirely in the English language immediately before admission are exempted from this requirement.

Acceptable evidence of English Language proficiency may be any one of the following:
*TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) score of 88 or higher in the internet based test, with not less than 20 in any of the Reading, Listening, Writing or Speaking components; or equivalent other TOEFL score. UNBC’s institutional TOEFL code is 0320.
*IELTS (International English Language Testing System) score of at least 6.5 overall, with not less than 6.0 in any of the four modules.
*LPI (Language Proficiency Index) score of at least 5.
*Comparable results in any other internationally recognized English Language Assessmenttest considered as equivalent to TOEFL or IELTS.
*A final grade of 2.00 (C) or better in the UNBC English Language Studies 50 Component 1 and 2.
*A final grade of 70% or better in English 12 from the British Columbia secondary system.

In order to be considered valid, these scores must be sent directly from the testing agency/institution to the Office of the Registrar.

Hi Robert,

I have similar requirement. Few details :

IELTS : 7
10th : 74%
12th : 72%
B.Tech : 70%.
2 years of work experience.
I have applied for Permanent Residence (PR) as federal skilled worker.

I want to pursue MS from Canada once i get PR.

1) Do i need to have GRE score after having PR?
2) How do the fee structure for international student and a permanent resident differ? From where i can get these details?

Thanks,
Deepa Parashar

umm deepa , there is no robert here , there was a mail chain between me and robert which i attached here!!

there is no link between PR & GRE , if you have a bachelor from outside US/Canada , some institutions prefer GRE.

Yes, PR's pay the same fee as canadian citizens hence it pretty less compared to international studemts. The variations varies across diff uni , you will have to check tuition fees of individual uni's for that

I have just completed B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering and am interested in pursuing the Masters in Computer Science . I am going to give the IELTS exam soon . From the practice tests my results seem to be in the range of 7.0 to 7.5 . My other results are :
Class X : 84%
Class XII : 88%
B.Tech : 76%(upto 7th sem)
I am searching for Universities that do not require a GRE

While registering for IELTS I have to select 5 Universities and I have shortlisted a few :

University of Western Ontario
Concordia University
University of Manitoba
University of Regina
SFU
University of Calgary
Carleton University
University of Saskatchewan
Acadia university
UBC

According to my results which Universities should I apply for Masters ? Please help me . Thank You .

Pick universities which have less credits , the course length should be at least 16 months of full time study . (Prefer 2 years) and CO-OP would be icing on the cake..

The list of universities i am mentioning are based on the fact you will pick course based masters ...!!

Dream
-----------------
UBC (Chances without GRE or exceptional work ex are very slim) / McMaster (chances slim without GRE/Work Ex) both are selective universities..!!

Reach (ALL THREE HAVE CO-OP & fees is reasonable)
-----------------
University of Victoria
SFU
University of Regina
Concordia (45 credits course)

U dont need to apply to any safe universities because you are sure to get admission from at least one of these :)!!! Personally i would apply to
---------------------------------------------------------
UBC, McMaster , SFU , Uni of Victoria , Uni of Regina
---------------------------------------------------------
