hello po.im back again pacencia na at super busy sa work hehehe,last may18,2011 po kme dumating dito sa wpg,and dito po kame sa may egesz st,nakatira...smooth sailing naman ang 1st day of work,xempre meju aligaga pero kayang kaya natin yan,inorient naman nila ako at every 2 weeks ang sahod,ung kaltas naman nila is for ur pension,union dues,and extended benefits,...may 21 rooms na kelangan mung linisin actually not too bad nmn ang mga rooms,mag dudusting ka lang naman at mag momop ng floors which is napakadali akala ko pa nmn eh napakahirap pero madali lng ang work,para nga din kme asa pinas,kc ang mga nurses,caregivers,housekeeping,dietary lahat pinoy...ok nmn mag speak ng tagalog wag lang sa harapan ng patient or pag may co worker kang ibang lahi,sa break tym naman lahat kme sabay sabay,share share ng baon,kaya masaya naman ang first day ko sa work,


bali .5 lang ako sa work it means guaranteed ka ng 5 days in 2 weeks,mahirap daw makakuha ng full time kc by seniority pero pede ka nmn daw mag pick up ng shifts equivalent to full time kung may mga nag sick calls or vacation,...ung asawa ko nmn eh midnight shift kaya may naiiwan sa mga kiddos ayaw ko nmn iaasa pa sa hipag ko ang pagbabantay sa mga bagets dbah,ngaun nmn laundry time ko,complete set nmn dito may washer and dryer na kaya no need sa kusot at piga,

konting araw pa at makaka adjust na din kme,un nga lang mga bagets d pa din,bawal nmn kc d2 lumabas at maglaro sa kalsada cla,unless na lang sa backyard nio..lagi na nga lang cla nabuburo sa basement,nagtatanong nga bakit daw walang bata sa labas?....

may family doctor na din kme,bombay nga lang,libre lahat pero aabutin ka naman ng syam syam sa pagpapacheck up.d gaya sa pinas basta may,datung ka on d spot agad eh d2,kahit inaapoy apoy kana sa lagnat nakapila ka rin,na-rerefund mo din ang bayad sa gamot pag may benefits ka.medyo d pa nga kme sanay sa mga gamot dito buti na lang may baon akong biogesic or alaxan...

sa friday pala pag nakapasa ako road test sasamahan daw kme ng hipag ko mag pa approve ng car pero xa ang mag cocosign,sabi ko nga next year na lang pag stable na kme pero d xa pumayag kc necessity daw tlga dito ang car lalo na pag winter at school days na,kaya ako nmn sabi ko kahit ano basta 2matakbo,ndi naman ako pilian eh,bsta kaya ng budget...o panu next tym na lng ulit ha ;D ;D ;D

na eenvision ko na buhay sa canada sa mga input ng kaforum natin who are generously sharing their experiences.. una ko agad naisip nung cnabi mu na bawal maglaro sa daan, is ung anak ko.. 4-year old boy..nag iisang anak lang kc cia, tapos ung pupuntahan namin e super distant relative namin na ala nang anak na bata.. super close pa naman ang anak ko sa mga pinsan nia dito sa pinas.. sabi nia nga nung i told him na malapit na kame pumunta Canada, maiiwan na lang daw cia dito at sasabay daw sa pinsan nia..medyo matagal at mahabang process bago makapag isponsor ng kapatid, so im sure super mahohomesick ang anak ko

but anyway, marami naman tayong member ng Manitoba BM, pwede cguro magkita kita during weekends and free time, at maglaro mga anak natin dun

after a month that my sister send my application at winnipeg, i got a letter from manitoba labour and immigration saying that my application has been accepted for assessment under family support stream. does it mean that they will no longer ask for any papers from me? cause i have not included any IELTS results for i have none... is this for sure that it will be approved? heheheh

Letter of Approval/Acceptance a.k.a. Nomination Letter. sabi po ng iba pag under family stream less requirements, possible na di na nga nila hingin ielts mo..pero syempre much better to be ready for it once required.

Hi giselle. For the longest time, I never wanted to be here in Manitoba. I did all the delaying tactics so my papers wont be processed right away.. hehe.. for the convincing part it took years.. and while the paper is being processed i delayed it as much as i could.. If i was given 4 months to submit something i submit it on the 4th month.. ha ha.. that's what happened to me... I was thinking that if my life is good in the philippines, why would i spend the rest of my life in a simple rural-like manitoba?.. hehe... It is only through this forum that somehow stirred my curiosity on what's cooking on filipinos mind, why would they want to migrate to manitoba?... my curiosity led to my conclusion that, I am simply taking for granted something that appears to be a great blessings to others.. That is the time i took manitoba for consideration.. I said to myself that i could always go back to the Philippines if i don't like it here.. that is what my family promised me as well that i could go back to the philippines even just after a month after i get my p.r. card... so the rest is history.. i am now here.. hehe..

But yep, I kinda like it here now.. I noticed that life is easier for the blue collar people here.. In my old post, I was talking about the tricycle driver in the philippines who is doing ok here. His salary is a bit more than 3k Canadian dollars a month which is roughly P133,000 pesos. He has his own house and a van.. something that he cannot afford in the philippines. For the white collar people, I guess it might not be that convenient right away for a number of immigrants. They do really end up with odd jobs at first and some never find corporate jobs up to now. (based on my observation with my short stay and series of interview to people here.. hehe.. chismoso kasi haha!!!)

Happiness and success for me is just in our minds. I was happy and i feel that I am successful in the philippines, and I am happy now and intend to be successful here as well, with no pressure on my case however since I don't have kids to feed, unlike in your case... before i share my game plan on how to land on a corporate job here let me just share to you true stories of the people around me first...

One of my sisters, luckily never got to experience "odd jobs" here.. she immediately landed on a corporate job with a big company.. hehe.. The job is simpler compare to what she did before back in pinas, but she is getting good salary as well.. while her husband did work for department stores while studying a bit so he can be a recognized engineer here.. finally the fruit of his labor is here, he is now an engineer after almost 2 years of working in department store/part time waiter and studying a bit... so I can say that their earning is more than the figures that you have quoted in philippine peso.... good for them...

On the other hand, my other sister, who used to be a manager back in pinas, chose a simple life here.. she just works for a department store with her husband, who is a senior manager in bank back there... they are still able to purchase a car.. and live a descent life... it is their choice to live their life as simple as that.. just enjoying the sun, the nature, the simple blessings in this northern place.. And life is good for them.. or maybe that is how they see it..

We are from a big family.. but we still have one brother who is left in pinas.. At one time he didn't have work and had a problem with his tummy that he needed to undergo surgery.. saint lukes charged him quarter a million.. a friend of mine had a business and had this infection in his foot that is giving him fever for weeks.. makati med was able to trace in about a month and finally cure it for around quarter a million as well.. A friend of ours spent millions on battling cancer.. unfortunately she passed away after the last chemotherapy. those thoughts had me thinking as well that my funds for my sickness should be millions as well in the philippines..And specially when i grow old, and no insurance will cover my health because of my age... In your case P250k is good money in the philippines.. If you have a fat bank account to cover your retirement and the some unfortunate events(flood, etc.. hopefully not). I think you are good.. A lot of filipinos had made it good and made it great in our homeland.. the land of milk and honey is just really in our minds.. It is just a matter of preference for me, so to speak.. On how you prefer to live your life, the filipino or canadian way.. hehe.. Either way we could be profitable and live great and be blessed.. We might just have to encounter few hurdles along the way..

Just relax, and try to find out what you really want in life.. you are the only one who has the answer to your question.. If you can`t decide, why not take a peek of what`s in here and just leave your other foot in pinas and not resign yet from your job.. however a peek might not be able to give you a better view of what`s instore for you here... gulo ba haha...

Hi pinoy2manitoba.... thank you for sharing your experience and outlook.. My husband and I are both in a corporate world here in pinas.. and several times, pag naguusap kami, we are setting our minds about the possibility of doing odd jobs.. we always said " Okay lang yun, for a change nakakasawa na sa opis." ( i know kahit sinasabi yun ni hubby...he still wants to be in an opis, baka pinalalakas lang nya ang loob ko, hehehe at ako ganun din sa kanya, lol) ... niwey tama ka ang pagiging masaya naman ng isang tao eh CHOICE... kung simple ka lang, simple lang din ang hahanapin mo, kung maluho ka you have to work hard to supplement the luho.. but bottomline is masuwerte tayo at nakapasa tayo dito.... I will be sending the passport to cem maybe tomorrow kasi kakakuha lang namin sa DFA ng maroon passport.. hopefully and god's will tuloy tuloy na at makuha na namin ang visa...Right now hindi pa ako nagreresign... I'm not super active dito sa forum na ito, pero every now and then i read everybody's post... Regards to all and God Bless...

hello to evryone, could somebody heard a similar case like mine, last year I underwent angioplasty but even if I completely recovered and my cardio tells me that I’m "fit to work" after passing a series of stress test, the ECG still shows its history. But of course I honestly declared it in our application , mabuti na yung magkaalaman hanggang maaga kaysa magkaproblema sa huli. ha ha ha.. My only worry is mayroon ba kayong narinig na disapproved ang application because of that? Salamat po sa mga sasagot
