I'm a plumber and I practise in Nigeria, a country in africa.
I have my trade test certificate and my certificate of apprenticeship.
I filled the EOI form and I answered "YES" to the "License and Trade/Profession" regulation question.
I have been sent the LAA since the 13th August 2015 now nd I have all my supporting documents intact but there's a problem about the licensing aspect, in the LAA sent to me, there's a paragraph that emphasises that applicants should refuse/reject the LAA if u don't have a license that is recognised in manitoba.
I enquired from the MPNP by mailing them and here's the reply I was sent;

"Thank you for your e-mail. You must be licensed in Manitoba in order to answer yes to that question on the EOI. If you have answered yes
and do not have the supporting documents, your file may be closed for misrepresentation. Please research your trade in Manitoba on the internet and determine if its an occupation that is governed by a licensing requirement. If it is, there will be an association that has a website and will provide information on licensing requirements.
Sincerely,
Dear
MPNP."

This reply is confusing because it didnt state if it wont be possible for me to be licensed if am outside canada or not, so am confused if i should simply reject the letter of advice to apply or go ahead with the documents i have with me. i already searched for websites who can provide infos on licensing requirement and i cant find any. The only ones i found was just fro the assesment of my trade.

im seriously confused and i really need serious help right now because i dont want a case of misrepresentation which could eventually lead to my file being closed and might end up in bans on future applications. Moreso i just have 37 days or thereabout for the deadline to submit a full application.
Thank you.
Dear Tola, you have to get license from one of The Regulation Body in Canada.
I think you should email to MPNP to cancel this LAA, then you update in your EOI as soon as possible for the next draw.
Best Wishes !

Dear Tola,

I`m from India & also from regulated trade Electrician 7241. I sent your query to my Immigration lawyer in New Delhi. He told me for you go ahead nothing to worry. MPNP just need all the documents what you have mentioned in EOI. When you landed in Manitoba you have to appear an exam and pass it. then only you will be able to work there in your profession.

best of luck

this is not true, you have to update your certificate of licencing from a manitoba regulatory agency as part of your application, what your lawyer has told you is classified as a misrepresentation.

Got LAA on 5th draw of MPNP on 14th aug 2015 from India.

need to send application within 60 days.

My issue is the Birth certificate, I do not have one, had used matric certificate as DOB proof till date.

Help me out , whether I need to apply for Birth certificate.

In education filed , whether we need to input from secondary education.

Yes, I agree with you Olawall.
When U say Yes in License and Trade/Profession" in EOI, you have more scores. And when you get LAA, you have to submit documentation indicated that license.

Dear All,

I think this article will help to regulated trade person.

When should I answer YES to the question “If your occupation is regulated in Manitoba, are you fully recognized by the provincial licensing body after undergoing all steps of having your qualifications assessed?”

First, determine if your occupation is considered regulated in Manitoba. You can find a full list regulated professions and trades in Manitoba here.
Please ONLY answer YES to this question if:

you are working in a profession or trade that is considered regulated in Manitoba; AND
you have fully undergone all licensing steps required to work in this occupation in our province.

Simply having submitted your credentials for evaluation is not considered sufficient proof of being able to work in Manitoba, so you would have to answer NO to this question in that case. Please review the information in the section on Regulated Professions and Trades on immigratemanitoba.com carefully to determine if you fall under a regulated occupation and to learn what it means to be fully licensed to work in Manitoba.

Please note that should you answer YES and are unable to prove that you are working in a regulated occupation AND are fully licensed to work in Manitoba, a subsequent application to the MPNP will be refused and you may be subject to a ban which would keep you from submitting another EOI for a period of two years.

Your lawyer is advising Tola to go ahead despite the fact that he has not yet actually passed the necessary licensing examination for his trade in Manitoba? REALLY???!!! :o :o :o I advise you to replace your lawyer before he also mislead you ;D Your advice let me think that you answered YES also in that portion and you intend to submit full application once you receive your LAA... well... goodluck :P :P :P :-* :-* :-*
