As per requirement, CAD 10K for principal applicant plus CAD 2K per accompanying dependent.

For husband, wife and a child, the total minimum funds should be CAD 14K.

Although it is advisable that the 6-months bank statement shows a minimum daily balance of CAD 14K,

Question:

Will the applicant be approved if his/her 6 months bank statement shows less than CAD 14K for the first 5 months and only on the 6th month it will show the minimum recommended fund of CAD 14K?

What do you think will be the repercussions of the above situation?

Thanks in advance for sharing your thoughts and experiences.

Hi znarfier,

Are you just starting to prepare your documents for MPNP application?

It really depends on how much is the difference, for instance, if you had CAD$10,000 (which is for the principle applicant) for the first 5 months then you added 4k on the 6th month, it might be feasible. But, there might be some people who had their own experience on this. And can better advise you.

However, when it comes to changing the balance amount on your account after submission, I strongly suggest you to keep your balance to a minimum of CAD$14K. Because you will have to prepare yourself that those saving of yours will be in your account until you land in Canada.

These are for the following reasons:

(1) You might be asked to submit your latest bank statements to MPNP before they interview your sponsor. (This is not in all cases, but it has happened to me. I was asked to provide them my latest bank statement 6 months after I submitted my application. They emailed me and I was allowed to send them a scanned copy via email. A month from that they called my sponsor for an interview. They then asked me to send a current letter for work - what are the odds, eh?)

(2) I haven't heard of any cases of CIC asking for the latest bank account copy, but well, that might happen. So, better be prepared.

(3) You are asked on your landing how much money you have brought with you. Some people were asked to show proof, cash, bank statement, bank draft etc., some weren't. Again, better be prepared.

My sister is planning to apply for MPNP as well and I suggested her to first work on her bank statement. While she is waiting for it to mature to 6 months, she should start collecting her documents and other requirements.

Good luck.
