I have some queries please let me know if anyone has correct Answer:

Q:- These days Why VO takes much time to process the PR Application because before 29 December 2011 There were not any requirement to send the Application to Nova Scotia and VO used to finalized the Application with in 3-4 months and Now a days New Dehli VO take much time like 8,9,10 or 11 months after they receive permanent Resident Application. No body knows exact timeline.

Q:- What is the Background checks Can Anyone let me know when its done how do they perform? and what sort of checks will be I mean Criminal, Eligibilty,or Anything etc And please reply Do Backgrounds checks is mandatory for every Application please reply.

;D got a call from manitoba today..... its was a real interview. spoke for like 7mins , just to know more about my employment history, and also about my relative in canada. my sponsor and employer also received a call today too. praying for LOA as soon as possible.

i applied as GS applicant ... since last year march, in which i was also told to sumbit my IELTS before sept after my application had been sent.

praying for positive response. my advise to everyone expecting a call , keep your phone by your side always cos your calls are coming soon.


PLEASE I NEED TO KNOW what next after the LOA? and i also hope i wouldnt be submitting another bank statement when applying to CIC, cos things are changing in this canadian immigration....

please kindly guard me thru ...

Hi Tweety, Emperor and Ad.

i recently posted about an error I made by filling 2011 version of IMM 0008 (family stream - Manitoba) and thought that would be the reason my AOR is getting delayed but later i though if that was the only error they should have returned application to file again. So i was going through my application forms again and found another stupid mistake that in correspondence/residential address I have filled my cousin's address which actually i filled when i orginally sent MPNP application form and thought that in IMM 0008 correspondence/residential address has to be in sync with what i am mentioning in Manitoba Nomination Application form, without putting brain that IMM 0008 is for later use to contact actual applicant not the sponsor.

its been good 70 days I haven't got AOR, and also call center # dont deal in nomination queries and dont how to approach CIC people and really dont know how long keep staring at unknown.....any advise guys

In your post I assume that you had submitted your PR Visa application to CIO and now waiting for AOR CIO .

If I got it correct, the best way to know if they accepted your application or not is to confirm if your PF payment has been encashed or charged. What mode of payment have you used?

If you provided an email, they will email you if they returned your application. Usually 2 mos from the date you submitted but ofcourse we can't guarantee if it will be 2 mos in your case. Most of the returned applications can be received 90 days after CIO receieved it. I am not giving you negative thoughts but I am just opening your mind to possibilities.

The address you provided in IMM0008 is the address of your sponsor, check if they have received your application package.

If you are waiting for AOR VO then you can follow what Emperor advised you.
"Case Specific Enquiry"
Your enquiry has been sent to the visa office processing your application. You should receive a reply within 28 working days (by email, regular mail or fax).

If your application is within normal processing times you may not receive a reply from the visa office.

If your message contains new information for your application (e.g. adding a newborn or change of address) your file will be updated but the visa office may not respond to your email.

My sponsor was interviewed last April 18 and they requested for my updated COE. I submitted it through email last April 22 and until now I did not receive any confirmation letter from MPNP if they already received my new COE. Should I expect email from them that they received my latest COE or they dont send notification email anymore?

Hope you could enlighten me with this. Thanks in advance.

Most of the time they are not giving confirmation. Try to email them to ask, maybe they'll give you a reply. Good luck.

How was your interview and the interview of your sponsor and employer?

Now, it's waiting time for your decision letter (LOA). I advise you prepare ahead of time for your Permanent Resident Visa Application to CIO-Nova Scotia. It will ensure that soon as you receive your LOA you can submit a COMPLETE PACKAGE of your PRV application.

Q1: Longer processing time means loads of applications to be process by the Visa Office. Rest assured that these applications will be processed accordingly. We just need to wait patiently.

In fact there are 3 kinds of checks on each applicant, which are the part of the process of PR. The visa processing office take a final decision only after successful completion of these procedures which are internally done and no one knows exactly when, how and where these checks are carried out. :-
Background check is done by visa post processing application with cooperation of visa posts where your education and experience credentials are from - this task verifies your claims and authenticity of documents.
Security check is done by Canadian intelligence and security agencies, with or without cooperation of proper authorities in countries you lived/stayed in, and it is done completely independently from CIC - CIC only gets result, which will be positive or negative, without any explanation (as it is classified). This task looks deep into your life, activities and associations to find out if you are/were involved or are/were associated in any way with anyone who is/was involved in espionage, terrorism, organized crime, radical movements, crimes against humanity, war crimes, etc..
Criminal check looks into your police certificates and verifies with relevant countries to see if you have a criminal record that may make you inadmissible to Canada.

If you will read the DOCUMENT CHECKLIST http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5690E.pdf , there's no need to submit bank cert or bank statement when you apply. It is not included anymore unlike before.

While your application is on process, they may ask for additional docs that may include those. Just comply with their requirements and everything will turn out fine.

For the benefit of all members: I would like to share this post of a VIP member of this forum, Qorax, about BACKGROUND & SECURITY CHECK. Though it was posted in year 2010, it can give us the idea on how are they doing these checks.

STANDARD BACKGROUND CHECKS:

Our background check is done at the CHC stage. It commences the moment our file gets the 1st BFD by the VO. An indicator of which is the e-CAS that shows "In Progress". All docs been checked & our NOC being tallied against the MI, if the VO finds our case 'eligible' for Canadian PR, the file becomes 'Accepted'; and then it goes for standard background checks, viz. Exp, Quals, Adaptability, Qualitative Considerations etc.

The process involves many things. If our case file is well presented and the enclosures vouch the quality-quantity, adequate POF docs etc., there might not be a requirement of 'actually' calling the employers, references etc. The VOs have a way with that, they are experienced enough to ascertain the logical disposition of our case. But, if there are any concerns of his/her, s/he is likely to ask for additional docs, do further scrutiny vide any means [calling, visiting etc.] & might ask for an Interview.

-Culmination: When 'fully' satisfied, we get the 'Medical Request'.
-Timeframe: Can be anything around 3-6 months, for the 'fast track' system. [The older system has a queue, thus gets longer]
-eCAS: Continues to Show 'In Process'.

SECURITY & CRIMINALITY CHECKS:
A part of the b/groung checks is the 'Security Check'. It commences after our med results are submitted to the CHC. This is a major activity -mainly concerning our 'safe inclusion' into the Canadian Soil; vis-a-vis, Political, Socio-Econmical, Anti-Social disposition etc. This gets us the SDEC, CDEC & SECCRIM.

This is a serious & time-consuming stage, involving many agencies, including CSIS, Interpol, NASC & Database Checking. Many things are considered here... the No. of countries visited, Applicant coming from 'certain' countries, ex-Servicemen [including Law Enforcement services], Prolonged stay in a country w/out sufficient docs to prove cause, Inter-Religion/Nationality Marriages etc.

If everything is simple & straight, the file soon gets into the 'final review' stage. If there are any 'red flags', our case goes into a 'spin'. Then our file might go to the local Police/CID agencies; the outcome/timeframe of which is beyond the control of CIC. And thereby the timeframe can be anything [sometimes beyond 1yr]. But, usually this stage should be over by 5 months max. However, a point to be noted is that we can also be called for an Interview, due to this reason.

-Culmination: Only upon security clearance we receive the PPR.
-Timeframe: Around 3-5 months. Avg. 3 months. [With the new system, sometimes PPR is clubbed with the Meds]
-eCAS: Still 'In Process', but 'Med Results Recd.' inside.

You're welcome

You mean, you are now married? Soon as your status changed, inform MPNP right away. Give them an email and attach your marriage certificate then wait for further instruction.

Don't forget to include your marriage certificate in your PRV application.

i applied march 2012 for General stream applicant (mail), i got my AOR on the July, which i was told to submit my IELTS before october, i submitted it IELTS on the 10th of september,2012,..yesterday was the interview...just praying for faster response on my LOA..... ;D
