I am moving to tregina sk next month. I have some questions about settlement.plz help me out

1) what are the good places to live where i can rent a room. I am IT profesisonal and will look for some IT companies there. Where are those companies situated so that i can get a room around them.

2) how to get entry level or survival jobs after landing? Would they prefer newly landed person on those jobs?

3) the money, i have showen while applying my application in express entry system, will exchange it to canadian currency. Should i have to show that account money at border while entry to canada?? Or i can exchange it anyway??

4) last question is about moving to other province. As i got saskatchewan nomination, can i move to other province after living some months here in regina sk.

Thanks in advance.

I moved to Regina little less than a year ago. I was in Hamilton ON before. Initially I didn't like the change, but slowly I started liking it. The best part of Regina is commute time. Everything is within 15 mins of your reach.

One advice - Do not live near the downtown / north-central area if you have a family, the rent may be cheaper in this area. Best place to live would be South or East end of city.

I do not know much about IT jobs as I am into mechanical engineering.

Dear frotenacs,

This is fahad from BD. I am an SINP nominated 2232 person & currently going through CIC stages.

Since I am also from Mechanical Engineering background & you are already 1 year in regina, could you please tell me about the mechanical job availability in SASK?

Like, Is enough mechanical eng/tech vacancy there? How difficult is apegs licencing? what is your suggestion that how much month required to get mech jobs there?

Thanks & waiting to meet you there.

At the moment engineering jobs are scarce in AB and SK, but we are optimistic oil price will go up and bring back those lost jobs in these two provinces. It is just the market - oil is down, steel is down and manufacturing is down, although I hear auto sector is doing well in that regard there are better auto related jobs in Ontario.

I haven't applied for my P.Eng yet but should not be very difficult.

hey guys quick question.
i am doing my short landing in a week. i have a Sask PNP so for receiving PR card is it a must to give Sask. address? or it can be any province address? if there any cic link to verify that? i searched alot but didnt find any info on this.

plz reply.
thanks,

If you have a Saskatchewan PNP it is best to provide them with a local address, as the point of the PNP program is to attract people to that specific location. If you need more information related to your landing, you can contact nextstopcanada.ca to speak to a specialist for free. It is a Canadian government funded program.

Provide a Sask address.
When you do your landing, go to Sask and get a UPS mailbox if you won't stick around for long. (e.g. short landing)
