Moving to Canada with tourist Visa

Dear All,

i'm a skilled worker with good networking/systems background, from Egypt, worked abroad almost all my career with Canadian visa till 2024, i'm moving to canada by next December to Mississauga/toronto aiming to find a sponsor to finish my PR Papers, i also can apply as a refugee as i'm Egyptian and had an experience working under some political pressure however i believe i have enough skills to find a job and stay normally, having said that, i'm surely scared of the move but with Gulf situations and Egypt economical situation i have no better chance but to move to canada.

i can study, i can get married or apply for refugee system however i'm more into looking for any company to sponsor me knowing that i even hold appreciation letter from the white house for my IT work in one of the presidential vists to saudi arabia, working under marriott umbrella for more than 4 years.

so can you please guide me with the best places that would find my skills of use and to ease finding a sponsor? also i need your guidance in general as i was told that this form is my easy access to shortcut my efforts in acquiring PR.

First of all, I would not recommend applying for refugee status. Based on the information you have provided, your case is very weak and you will most likely be refused. Once you have a refused refugee application, returning to Canada in the future will be much more difficult.

You should assume it will not be possible to find an employer who will be willing to sponsor you for permanent residency. Generally it's extremely difficult (next to impossible) to find an employer willing to go through this process. However you do not need a job offer to apply for permanent residency. You can qualify without a job offer. I would recommend that you research the Express Entry program to find out how you can apply for permanent residency in Canada. It would be best to continue working outside of Canada and apply from there rather than coming to Canada as a tourist and applying from here. Information about Express Entry is here:

Also note that you cannot 'move' to Canada on a visitor visa. All you can do is visit. If the CBSA officer suspect you are trying to permanently move to Canada on a TRV, you may be refused entry. Again, it would be best to apply for PR from outside of Canada if your aim is to move here permanently.

You can try, but the chances of approval will be low. If you want to study in Canada then you should apply for the study permit from outside of Canada. To be approved for a study permit you must show strong ties to your home country. It's much harder to do this if you are already in Canada as a visitor.

Think you may have heard that Egyptians get asylum easily. Very specific groups get asylum easily like Coptic Christians or people that have been attacked and jailed by the current government. People continue to be deported to Egypt from Canada.

Whoever told you there are shortcuts to acquire PR is either wrong, or is trying to scam you.

If you want to be sponsored: find a company that is willing to sponsor a work visa for you. You should be seeking Canadian companies and applying to positions they have posted to which you are qualified for.
