Update : I had to go to the CBSA office at Kitchener Airport to clear my goods from the customs. Next thing is to arrange a move from upack to my new apartment :-)

Hello, UPACK is requiring to give copy of passport and visa to the driver. Did you do this too? Isn’t that personal info?

Thanks!

I went to CBSA office @ downtown Montreal without appointment.
Hi,

I am planning to use UPACK as well. How did you use UPACK services, did you chose terminal to terminal or door to door.
And also, can the goods reach Canada before we reach or it doesnt matter.
Had anyone moved Mattresses as a part of your move?

Your suggestions are appreciated @smtele

@swan0206 I chose terminal to terminal. Had to use a UHaul & some help from friends to get goods from Terminal to home. Goods can reach Canada before you do. They'll keep it in storage. Call UPack and they will explain the process.

Thanks for your response. Yes, spoke to them they explained it. Also one more question. I do not find the BSF186 form that i had filled during my landing. Is it fine to fill a new one and hand it over to UPACK and keep a copy with me.

Yeah you can give U Pack a copy, but for clearing of goods within Canada, you'd need to go to CBSA, and I think they'd wan to see the original documents stamped / given by CBSA at landing. I am not sure what to recommend if the original documents have been lost. Perhaps check with CBSA on what to do here, or try to find them?

Hi. i found it finally. No worries :) and i have extra goods that not in the list during landing. Is it fine? or would they question on that. Also what about liquids? should i dispose them here or they can be be carried with any precaution?

@swan0206 Don't ship anything in this list: https://www.upack.com/moving-resources/documents-and-tools/do-not-ship-list & read through https://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/travel-voyage/mrc-drc-eng.html

I am not sure about extra goods. I had declared exactly what I brought into Canada. Perhaps someone else can comment on that.
https://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/travel-voyage/mrc-drc-eng.html . This list says used or second hand mattresses are restricted, but when i found out with one of the member, they told, we can pack it in Mattrress-cover and it can be shipped. They wont question. have you shipped your mattress?

I did not ship mattress. Go with the rules established by CBSA to be on the safe side.

@harirajmohan : Any idea on this? I have a music system(got an year back) and cookware set(bought 5 months back) . Can i still take them with me if they are not declared in the list during landing. Also, should i only use U-haul or Home depot boxes to pack, any other boxes like Walmart or Amazon boxes that we have at home , would that be a problem, do they think we are buying here very recently and taking them.

By the way i am using UPACK.

One year old is not taxed. But few items that were bought recently is not really verified and also it will not be taxable based on value. So you should be fine. https://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/travel-voyage/mrc-drc-eng.html

You can take any rental company's truck. There is no specific restriction.
Any boxes will do. You are not shipping them individually hence it doesnt matter.
