Hi everyone, we landed in April last year and have got our PR cards. I am planning to wrap things and move to Canada by the end of July this year and we are planning to travel by road from the US to Canada. Please let us know , if we need any more documents other than our PR cards.
Thank you!

Passport + PR card is all you need.

I think you need you to complete export formalities for your car while you are in US

Thank you. But my car is on lease till November. Do I still have to follow the export formalities? I can drop my car off at any of the dealership in Canada.

You won't be able to register it in Canada without exporting. Leased car cannot be exported.

You may need to break the lease or wait till your lease ends before the move. Even though leasing company may let you drive in Canada, you'll have so many other practical issues like not being able to get Canadian plates, and subsequently Canadian insurance and all. This car thing needs more preparation than you would think.. just browse through other threads in this forum and see what people have done.

Yeah, you need to either buy your car so you own it and can export it, or return it to the leasing company in the US.

You could also try some lease transfer services. There is a market for folks to try out a car with few months left on the original lease.

That is interesting. Is there a specific service / website you recommend

Thanks. I was also looking for the sites.
Just to add this, if you can convince your Automotive Manufacturer, say Honda US, to give you a letter, which explains you can still drive in Canada and would return the car to Honda US, this is still an option.

However, I do not think Honda US will give you that as you have their collateral. I know someone has done this, bu that person worked for the Automotive Company itself.

Good Luck!
