Moving to Canada before PR

Quick question - what if I haven't received my PR by the time my husband and I wish to move to Canada i.e. May 2011. Our application was received by CIC Aug. 16th. Will then go through Buffalo.

I don't need a visa to travel to Canada (I believe I can stay for 6 months). Could we just move to Canada and my husband can go straight to work while I wait to receive my PR? If we could do that, how would that work with receiving correspondence etc. from Buffalo?

Hi Nell,
I believe you can move, you just have to change your mailing address, so you can receive all your correspondence. (You can do it when you log onto ecas). You'll have to wait to work, but you are allowed to be there.
