Not sure what you mean. You don't need to pay capital gains tax on your primary residence if you've lived in it 2/5 years and sell it before you leave the US. Otherwise you would have to pay Canadian taxes = profit * 0.5 * marginal tax rate (> 40% ) for most middle class income earners.

Your right but i heard the new tax laws were changing that..not anymore.
I will be getting in contact with accountants who deals with cross country scenarios like mine to understand better.

The same boat; recently submitted PR application.

1) A score of 445+ should be able to get you an invitation in the upcoming rounds. If you can score this with IELTS and education of you and your spouse, no need to go for a PNP. Anyway, submit the application for FBI PCC and try to get transcripts from your university for ECA. These are the two things that take the most amount of time. You can collect the rest of the docs and appear for IELTS in this period.

No idea about questions 2 and 3.

Thank you, Sree. When and where do you plan to move to Canada? Also, would it be interested in sharing your thoughts and expertise in this process? If you are then, please send me an email - vamsik58@gmail.com.

I am expecting to get my Visa soon. I have worked in SAP APO and IBP. I am looking for opportunities in same. How is the job market for APO/ IBP? Does anyone know good SAP Recruiter in Toronto area?
Please define your terms clearly. You can't post to a generic forum and expect specialized knowledge. Your world may revolve around SAP, APO and IBP but not for us. For e.g. if I speak ML, AI, LR, L2, SVM, RL, DL, DNN, MCMC, DBM, GAN,... does it make much sense? Probably not. Don't be a dick.

Oh oh.... you might wanna tone down a bit ;)

I work with one of the SAP products and trust me if he starts expanding APO and IBP then even SAP guys won't understand what he is talking about :)

EDIT: See you scared him away. Looks like he deleted his original post :(

Hi folks,
Both my wife and I are planning to move to Canada sometime soon. However, we aren't sure where to move to. I am a Systems Analyst with about 8 years of experience and my wife an Application Packager with over 10 years of experience. I do not have a whole lot of technical development experience but I'm good at what I do as an SA. Here is my question - how likely would I be able to find a job in Canada and what would be the Province that I should be aiming for? Appreciate any help in this regard.

Thank you in advance.

Best Regards,
Vamsi Menta.

I'm a tech person, but I can't readily tell the difference between a systems analyst and a technical developer. It sounds like perhaps you have very specialized knowledge, maybe in Unix or Windows sysadmin. In general, the more specialized you are the narrower your job market is. Doesn't matter if it's Canada, USA or India. That said it still blows my mind that there's so much demand for PHP developers.
Perhaps, this is my own lack of exposure, but I'm really not familiar with super specialized skill sets. All the jobs I've worked in, and dare I say, the jobs of the future, rely on being language and technology agnostic. Being versatile and learning to learn is more important, IMO.
From what I know, the greater Toronto area has a healthy tech belt. Further on, Montreal has a good tech scene as well, but some jobs might require knowledge of French. Good luck!

I too am a systems analyst but in a different area, which too is pretty niche. I agree with other comment here - GTA is the best possible area. If you have experience with Govt systems, Ottawa is great place too.
GTA (higher no of openings, higher cost of living)
Ottawa (lesser openings compared to GTA, more of specialized openings, lower cost of living)
Montreal & other areas in Quebec (higher openings in manufacturing / engineering applications domain, cost of living is lower than GTA).

My H1b is expiring by june 2019 and no chance for GC filing from my employer.
I got the ITA and may be in next 6 month I can get the COPR. After COPR, can I move to canada without going back to India(Home Country)?

Yes. You can directly cross border from USA to Canada by land, sea or air.
