Hi Seniors,

I need an opinion and suggestions please. I did land in Toronto last month and availed a Lawyer through Legal Aid. Currently, I am still working on my narrative and gatherings maximum possible proofs for my case.

Is it possible for me move to Montreal and claim my refugee case at Montreal office? and does the Legal Aid which.I have been granted with cause a problem?

A friend of mine suggested me that Montreal office is faster and flexible with good acceptance rate.

Please

I think Quebec has their own legal aid.you may apply for that

Considering the short time frames for submitting everything to the RPD, and the fact that you already have a Legal Aid lawyer in Ontario, I think you would be complicating things unnecessarily by moving to Montreal at this point. You run the risk of missing deadlines--who needs that additional stress? I have seen the list of which Board Members have high, medium and low acceptance rates, but the list is arranged by name, not by regional office, so I don't know if it is accurate to say that Montreal has higher acceptance rates.

Thanks for the info. I would rather now stay in Toronto in order to not make my case complicated. Could you also please send any link for the list you are talking about.

my case is just opposite, I recently landed in Montreal, filed claim in Montreal and moved to Toronto for hearing date. you may message me your contact details so we can discuss further or can possibly meet in Toronto to help each other. Thanks

Sure, I am sending you a private messGr.

We have sent to the black hole I think there is no guarantee that we will have a hearing soon, I've seen news about legacy claimants who had applied before 2012, it's really hard and if it's possible to transfer the claim to any other office but not Toronto right away!

Yes brother, the only reason is that I fear to not get into black hole brcause I heard in Toronto there is a shortage of judges and they are postponing plenty of hearings. Now since I have not yet submitted my claim and I was looking for aby possibility to.submitt my claim in any other less busy province. However, the problem is that I have already availed legal Aid Ontario and hired a Lawyer. I have no idea if I should submit my claim in Toronto itself or chose another province.
