Hi,

Wanted to know if anyone has moved to US after mailing citizenship application without getting citizenship. Legally this is allowed, but wanted to know if anyone has done that and what was the experience.

Thanks!!

Not specific to H1B but there are instances of people doing the same as you and things turned out fine.

There was a recent post in this sub-forum on the same issue, and it turned out fine. The guy had mailed his docs and went to work in Europe.

Plenty of examples in the threads. A number of applicants seem to have taken the test while being outside Canada but the issue of taking the oath outside Canada seems to be a little tricky. There are claims of IRCC allowing the oath from abroad, but conventional wisdom suggests otherwise. If you are in the US, getting back to Canada should not be an issue for the oath.

Would it be possible to provide a non-Canadian address while filing for Canadian Citizenship ?

I don't think so.

I believe you can move after submitting your application, but for application purposes a Canadian address is needed.

Search for threads on this question, you will find some on the forum
