Hi All,
After an issue with my mother's visitor visa was resolved, now there again is an issue with my mother-in-law's visitor visa.
My husband and myself were sponsors in her case. My husband in a Post graduate work permit that is valid until August 2016 and me being a PR.
We applied for my mum-in-law's visitor visa recently and got it approved for 6 months. Her purpose of visit was to visit my husband and myself. The length of the trip was for 3 weeks.
My dad-in-law and sister-in-law are in India. My mum-in-law is a home maker. We showed financial documents and assets of my dad-in-law's as my mum-in-law is completely and financially dependent on him.
With this background, though we had applied for a multiple entry visa, she got it approved for 6 months. She was supposed to travel next weekend (August 16,2016). But unfortunately, my dad-in-law met with an accident and injured his leg. So she has to stay back to look after him and she might not be able to come during this 6 months that she has been granted.
Would we be able to apply for an extension, even if she doesn't come here within these 6 months ? or is it advisable for her to come here for 2-3 weeks later within these 6 months and then apply for extension?
Thanks.
