Dear All

I am going to apply for FSWP but there are few queryto apply.

01-Should I apply for Educational Credential Assesment for FSWP even I have already received Engineering-IN-Training (EIT) Licsence on the basis of academic satisfication through long procedure from public regular body named APEGA (The Association of Professional Engineers & Geophysicentists Alberta Canada)??? Because publioc regular body named APEGA Canada already assesed my educational credential in detail so they issued me EIT licsence IN TERM OF my passed qualification is equivalent to canadain educational credential.

02- If I am principal applicant then should my wife apply for Educational Credential Assesment????

Please guide me urgent if you know something about it.

Best Regards,

CIC will only accept ECA of the governing bodies announced on April 17 2013. They are mentioned here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/media/backgrounders/2013/2013-04-18.asp

They will not accept any other Evaluation.

But they did not only evaluate but also they recongised and issue me licence for practice there.

This is big challenge to get it as immigrant, but i did it .....even they mentioned like " Aplicants who have Canadian educational credentials do not need to get an ECA, unless they are also submitting a foreign educational credential in support of their application."

this license is equal to canadain education credential......

I believe I was in a similar position. I flew to Canada and sat exams so I am fully accredited to practice Medical Imaging in Canada.
HOWEVER I still got my degree assessed through WES because my degree itself and education is not Canadian. My qualifications and experience were highly scrutinised in order for me to even sit the exam. So, logically it doesn't make sense that I should have needed to get my degree assessed but upon everything I've read I think the chance of my application getting sent back if I didn't do it was far too great.

The ECA exception is for applicants who have Canadian education credentials - meaning they completed their education in Canada at a Canadian university or college. If you completed your degree in Canada then you are fine. If you completed your degree elsewhere and it was then assessed against a Canadian standard - you must still go through the ECA process.

Agreed

Please review it again ...what does it mean by Canadian educational credentials????

01-Canadian educational credentials= got academic qualifications (degrees) from canadian university/college only.

02-Canadian educational credentials= got academic qualifications (degrees) from canadian university/college + recongnised by public authorized body(s).

03-Canadian educational credentials= got academic qualifications (degrees) from canadian university/college or recommended some university/college of a few countries + recongnised by public authorized body(s). = practice license

which is fine???????

Scylla has already told you above. No need for qorax or any other senior member to clarify it. Your credentials, which you have will be helpful when you are IN Canada. When applying for Canada, you still need to have ECA done with either WES, ICAS aur CES.

Taken from CIC News:.

Applicants who have Canadian educational credentials do not need to get an ECA, unless they are also submitting a foreign educational credential in support of their application.

The ECA process will help determine if the foreign educational credential is authentic and equivalent to a completed credential in Canada. For prospective applicants, the ECA can provide a realistic understanding of how their foreign educational credentials are likely to be recognized in Canada.

As of April 17, 2013, four organizations have been designated by the Minister to provide ECA reports for purposes of immigrating to Canada under the FSWP. Additional organizations may be designated by CIC in the future. The designated organizations are:

Comparative Education Service: University of Toronto School of Continuing Studies;
International Credential Assessment Service of Canada;
World Education Services; and,
Medical Council of Canada.

CIC will only accept ECA reports issued after the date the organization was designated by CIC to provide ECA reports for immigration purposes (i.e. April 17, 2013). An ECA report will be valid for immigration purposes for 5 years from the date that it was issued by the designated organization.

Hi Gulshan,

Need your help. Could you please let me know how much time APEGA took in providing the approval? i applied in Dec 2012 and since last 4 months, it showing the status as 'Academic examiner review In Progress'. Your inputs will be greatly appreciated.
