+1(514) 937-9445 or Toll-free (Canada & US) +1 (888) 947-9445
I will be calling Immigration!!!! I will just wait until tomorrow. I need time to cool off. Right know I am pretty PO'ed at them!!

Yeah, and I can't help but feel a little responsible for that. Just be nice and positive. There must be explination and everything will work out. As I said, there may be letter on its way, but definitely inquire.

U cant call moscow office and on cic it says u can call the toll free after ur file has been transferes to the visa office.i would just wait or somehow get a number for the moscow office
Good luck

Hey guys,

I got update on eCas today (notified by tracker). Processing started on Nov. 22 (same date AOR emailed to my wife).. Not the date on the letter which was Oct. 11 (6 days after sponsor approval). I think they may have just put this date there because that is when they actually recieved, but not sure.

I will visit my wife in 2.5 weeks for 1 month...This I really can't wait for ;D

Shawngt2, as disheartening as it is, I think there may be a difference between receipt and start of processing, i.e. they got the package but only started looking at it later. My AOR letter date and "started processing" date in eCAS is the same - 16 Aug.

So three months for you since opening...Have you heard anything since then? To me Moscow seems to have MUCH less applicants than other countries and yet it takes such a long time. 4-6 months for background checks just doesn't make sense to me... Oh well though, what can we do. We are all left helpless and waiting until this is over...
No, I haven't. eCAS just shows "We started processing <WIFE'S NAME>'s application on August 16, 2010.". I ordered CAIPS notes month ago, so they will hopefully arrive anytime soon. Maybe they will contain useful information, maybe they will not, but I am set on sending CAIPS queries monthly or even bi-weekly, just for the heck of it.

CAIPS eh? It will be interesting what information you find on there...

Just thought I'd say Hi to everyone, awaiting reply of application being recieved at moscow visa office, about a month behind you Shawngt2.

Ill let you all know how things progress, good to hear all your stories :)

Edmman, How are things going? Have you heard anything?

My wife tells me on the Russian forum (rusforum.ca) that one person got visa this week after 4.5months review in Moscow. Concerning letter from embassy stating that your file has been opened, everyone has different dates and it's not a first come, first serve basis. I suppose files get distributed to IOs once they arrive and depending on each of their workloads and efficiency, you get a response... I know we got our letter before people that are a month or two before us but some of them have gotten their letters just recently. Anyhow, the process is still going for all of us and I'm hoping to be with my wife full time by March! :)

I'm still in Russia now and leave this coming Monday morning, it's been 4 weeks of an amazing holiday with my wife and I'm pretty sure I'm not going to have to go another 6 months without seeing her, because after 4-5 months, I began to go crazy! :o ... And know Tallen has felt this also!

Tallen, so I think things are looking good for you and once they get the requested documents, you should hear additional information withen 2 weeks (based on previous readings of other people's experience). You're just around the corner now :)

Hope you all had a great holiday and please update all of us about your process and your feelings about this whole shabang :)

Cheers!

greetings fellas
i just got back from a 5 week vacation from russia, was hoping to get an aor because i want to sent additional proof of relationship from my recent trip but without aor/file number i dont want to send it incase it gets misplaced

Dmitri, the conventional wisdom is that you should not send additional documents and/or evidence, unless you are specifically asked to or you are 100% sure you will be asked b/c you failed to send a document from the list or realized that you filled the form in the wrong way.

Anecdotal evidence is that sending additional documents slows down processing of your application, as it gets pulled out and then put into the end of the queue.

Welcome back Dmitri! I'm sure you enjoyed the vacation as much as I did! :)

I would also not send anything extra, unless you really feel that you didn't have enough evidence in your initial application...I could also send much more info, but I will wait!

What is really puzzling me is that some of us get AOR and some don't...We had gotten ours Nov. 22 (approx. 1.5mo after sponsor approval) and some people who applied well before us haven't even gotten theirs, or just recently did.

On Jan. 13 we heard from them again (wife's email) and they requested my passport scan. We took this chance to also scan my entry stamp into Russia with my immigration document to show I was visiting her. It's good we hear from them again and shows something is happening for us :)

welcome back aswell, it was great
did u not send the passport scan with the initial application?

Thanks,

Well that's the thing, I did scan all pages of my old and new passport. We didn't understand this request as well...

Oh well ???
