Great news !
Congratulations,very quick work
I sent my passport last week and they got it on monday this week , I have checked the passport status on line today it says ''Your processed passport has been dispatched from the Canada Visa Office Moscow, on 26/02/2014 to the Canada Visa Application Centre.To know more, please call VAC helpline number or visit VAC website'' so I hope I will get it back soon but the ECAS has not changed my status yet it's still in Process. Did your wife recieve her passport along with the Confirmation of permanent residence ?

Hello, we are APPROVED

After my wife sent her passport to Moscow (from within Russia), it took about 4-5 business days for ECAS to show her new married last name. The next day the ECAS status for her changed from In Process to Decision Made. The passport arrived with the PR Visa shortly after.

3 years wait (since the day I met her). We'll be spending our 2nd marriage anniversary together here in Canada shortly

Has your sponsored spouse done her/his medical examination ?
I recieved pasport request letter soon after my medical has been done.
We applied in may 2013 , but due to the stike action the process of my application had been postponed
so they started processing my application 6 months later in November 2013 .
anyway after being In Process you will be in Decision made

I recieved a notification via e mail to undergo my medical on november 25, 2013 , the medical had been done on december 18, 2013 . I recieved Passport request letter via e mail on January 21 , 2014 . It only took a month . Passport sent on February 26 , 2014 . I will get it back tomorrow .
According to their processing time , the total approximate time for Moscow is 18 months. I think you can do nothing withing the allowed time . may be it depends on a case if your case is still in process there must be some reasons for it. Try to contact the embassy , send an e mail them , ask them if you have to update your medical results as your current medical will be expired soon.

Great news !

Well , it took one day to stam the visa plus in a few days to send your pasport back to you. It depends on where you live , as you know you can't submit your passport in person so you have to you submit it to the CVAS if you live in Moscow it won't take so long .
