In regards to moving from overseas to Montreal for work, I am looking for a few clarifications with Canadian citizenship sponsorship methods.
1) Is it a requirement to stick with the same company for the duration of a work sponsorship?
2) Can another employer take over with a work sponsorship partway through?
3) Are there normally any costs to the employer with sponsoring someone for work, and if so I am curious if any of those costs be moved to the one who is being sponsored?
4) And can it switch from work sponsorship to inland spousal sponsorship partway through a work sponsorship (without leaving the country)? Or if it starts on a work sponsorship, would it need to be finalized on a work sponsorship to eventually obtain Canadian citizenship status?

Think you need to do more research. There is no citizenship sponsorship. You currently qualify for citizenship after spending 3 out of 5 years in Canada after you have become a permanent resident.

1. If you have a closed work permit you must stay with the same employer.
2. You can change employers if the employer gets an LMIA and you get a new WP to work for that employer
3. Yes there are usually costs associated with hiring a foreign national. No the fees must be covered by the employer,
4.Yes you can be sponsored by a spouse while on another WP.

I tried to answer your questions but there are some fundamentals that you aren’t understanding. A job offer or job can help you qualify for permanent residency. You can only qualify for citizenship by meeting the residency requirement of 3 out of 5 years in Canada. Citizenship is not tied to an employer.
