You will get it from Etobicoke. There will be a landing process, COPR confirmation, and they will send you a COPR in letter.Hi Everyone,
My Primary office is Montreal and Secondary is Etobicoke. I got my PR approval in my account Yesterday but no COPR letter yet. Will I be getting it form Montreal or Etobicoke? And any idea how long it takes? Thanks.
As per Immigration and Refugee Protection Act an application is inadmissible for financial reasons:@legalfalcon
I have a question,My AOR is April 2020.I have been maintaining funds in my Checking account from 6 months before AOR to Current date. However my funds went below the required amount for the month of August 2020 and September 2020
For the month of August and September I had funds equal to 14500 CAD which is below the required minimum 16,135
However Starting October 2020 I had more than minimum funds
Note: My Overall last 6 months Average balance (Closing balance everyday / 180) is 17000 CAD
and my overall last 12 months average balance (Closing balance everyday / 365) is 18000 CAD which are above the required minimum POF
Note: During August 2020 and September 2020 I had Stocks worth 2000 CAD which i Cashed out and moved to my bank account in October
Could the decline in funds for 2 months be an issue if IRCC asks me Updated Bank statements in the future?
I maintained the minimum funds for every month except August and September 2020
Appreciate your help Thanks
Thank You,You will get it from Etobicoke. There will be a landing process, COPR confirmation, and they will send you a COPR in letter.
@legalfalcon Thanks for your response,The main source of funds is my SalaryAs per Immigration and Refugee Protection Act an application is inadmissible for financial reasons:
39 A foreign national is inadmissible for financial reasons if they are or will be unable or unwilling to support themself or any other person who is dependent on them, and have not satisfied an officer that adequate arrangements for care and support, other than those that involve social assistance, have been made.
The R76(1)(b)(i) of IRP Regulations further provides:
the skilled worker must
- (i) have in the form of transferable and available funds, unencumbered by debts or other obligations, an amount equal to one half of the minimum necessary income applicable in respect of the group of persons consisting of the skilled worker and their family members, or
- (ii) be awarded points under paragraph 82(2)(a), (b) or (d) for arranged employment, as defined in subsection 82(1), in Canada.
The minimum required PoF is establish based on Low Income Cut Off (LICO) and the current requirement is:
To meet this IRCC requires:
Letter(s) from your financial institutions that must
Here, the average of 6 months is required to ensure that the funds are not borrowed, as no one would keep borrowed funds in their account, and also by seeing if there is a sudden spike in the funds right before the application is submitted.
- be printed on the financial institution’s letterhead
- include their contact information (address, telephone number and email address)
- include your name
- list outstanding debts such as credit card debts and loans
- include, for each current bank and investment account, the
- account numbers
- date each account was opened
- current balance of each account
- average balance for the past 6 months
If you feel short in any 2 months in the last 6 months, that is not an issue as long as you replenish the funds and can show the source of funds and explain it in the LoE.
IRCC can ask for any documents, indulging an updated PoF at anytime during the processing of your application. The funds must be available both when you apply and when your application is approved. You must prove to an immigration officer that you can legally access the money to use here when you arrive.
Anything post AOR does not matter. Just make sure that you replenish it in case IRCC asks for a revised statement and have the statement ready to show when you move to Canada.@legalfalcon Thanks for your response,The main source of funds is my Salary
This is how my Average balance for each month looks
My Average balance is above the required prior AOR But after AOR it went down for 2 months
The minimum required funds for 2 people is 16135 CAD
Do you think its Ok?
I'm confident that my funds won't go down in the future

@legalfalcon Thanks a lot for responding,I was worried because my GCMS had the below note for POFAnything post AOR does not matter. Just make sure that you replenish it in case IRCC asks for a revised statement and have the statement ready to show when you move to Canada.
All that matters is there following months:
October 2019 :16KCAD
November 2019:17K CAD
December 2019 :20KCAD
January 2020 :20K CAD
February 2020 :22K CAD
March 2020 :24KCAD
April 2020 :28K CAD.
As per which you are all fine.
The documents that you have submitted, does that mention average balance on it. If not, did you submit the bank statements for the last 6 months?@legalfalcon Thanks a lot for responding,I was worried because my GCMS had the below note for POF
"SETTLEMENT FUNDS: Appears To Meet Approx. CAD $27000, as per CHASE statement at 2020-04-01; Family of 2 requires CAD $16 135 NOTE: NO MENTION OF THE AVERAGE BALANCE FOR THE PAST 6 MONTHS"
I thought drop in the funds for 2 months might create an issue if IRCC asks for updated POF based on my GCMS
