I'm going to successfully complete my one year of AOR (29-May-2019).

I reached my MP to get updates this time. The updates are below

· The Montreal IRCC office is currently reviewing the application and documents submitted to determine if your constituent and their family members (if applicable) meet the eligibility requirements under the class for which they have applied.

  • The medical examination results have expired for your constituent.
  • The criminality verifications are in process for your constituent.
· The security verifications have not been initiated for your constituent.

Again my MP requested reason for long process time and CIC replied back as

The file was transferred for further review to the Vancouver local office on July 10, 2019.

Then the file was transferred to the Montreal local office on August 8, 2019 for the same purpose as well.

When a file is transferred to any local office for further review and/or investigation, no processing times apply any longer.

My question is :
What is mean by local office, what do they do over there? Is there any problem on my application?

There is no update on my profile since September, 2019.

Even my application was transferred from Ottawa to Montreal local office (I found out this in my GCMS notes). So I called CIC to understand if anything wrong with my application and the response from the representative was -
1. File transferred reason - To distribute workload and fast processing of the application.
2. How local office processing is different -
- The local office processing timelines may not match with the estimated/account dashboard timelines.
- The local offices deal with multiple types of applications other than PR related work which might result in a delay as the strength of local offices is low compared to central offices.

I hope this helps you !!

Have you requested GCMS notes? It's the only way to understand what's going on with your process.

Thank you very much for your information.

There can be some delays, but keeping application on hold for an year is too much.

Is there any way to reach them or to reach central office to get an update.?

My AOR : 02- April-2019, Its more than an year. I called CIC 4 times since 9th Mar'2020, they updated that only FINAL DECISION Pending from Senior Officer every time I contacted. Applied GCMS, received successfully after 120 days not even with the latest updates.Literally GCMS is of no use to me.

I think webform, and IRCC customer care number are only options available. But I have seen some people taking help of IRCC authorized representative (This means they have a license to practice and give advice), as they have access to contact the officers working on particular application. But for that I believe, you need to add them as your express entry application representative.

No representative can get you information which is in addition to what you see on GCMS notes.

GCMS notes are issued on the same day as you apply. Even if they are issued 90/120 days after you applied. If you want latest information you need to apply again.

Hey Folks, my file is also in the dreaded Montreal office. I would appreciate some advice on the following:

AOR 18th November 2020
Medicals — December 2nd (Medical status on online form showing Medical Passed
Biometrics Given — On the 23rd of December (Biometric online status: We have not received your fingerprints. Check your biometrics request message below for details.)

I sent a webform a few days back and got the following reply:
We verified the information on file and can confirm that:

· The application is still in process at IRCC local office in Montreal, Quebec.
  • The responsible office is currently verifying if your application meets the eligibility requirementsunder the immigration program for which you have applied,
    • you may be contacted via your account if additional information is needed.
  • The background verifications are in process.
  • The security background verification has not been initiated.
  • The criminal background verification is in process.

Can anyone tell me:
  1. What stage my visa process is in? Has anything been complete? Any ETA?
  2. Secondly, what has happened to my biometrics? Why have they not updated it on my online form? Additionally, if my security check is in process does it mean that they’ve gotten my Biometrics?
  3. Is there anything that I can do to expedite? Send more information etc?
  4. Lastly, do applicants from the US (who might be south asian passport holders) count as inland applicants?
I know people with an AOR of December whose entire file got completed in March so this is very annoying.

Help will be appreciated.

Best.

ETA doesn't apply anymore given the situation around Covid and how badly is Montreal hit. Order GCMS notes if you want to know status.
Secondly, what has happened to my biometrics? Why have they not updated it on my online form? Additionally, if my security check is in process does it mean that they’ve gotten my Biometrics?
Same as above. Order GCMS notes.

Is there anything that I can do to expedite? Send more information etc?
No. Whether you need to send additional information may depend on what is stated in GCMS notes. If the analyst made any observations which can be solved by sending additional documents then yes.

Lastly, do applicants from the US (who might be south asian passport holders) count as inland applicants?
No. Inland as the name suggests are candidates who are physically in Canada.

Now I'm worrying in case of any rejection then again I have to wait for an year.

Hi, my application got approved with the COPR document status. but I don't see the COPR attachment in account / email.

Do you get the attachment in account ?
Hi,
I am sorry for late reply. Firstly, congratulations on approval.
Actually, I got direct email from Montreal office. But later on, it was updated on online account.

Hi Amy, did you raise any webform or call IRCC to remind them that you are an inland applicant? I am an inland applicant as well and all the stages passed in late March, but I am still waiting for the next step.
