Hello RQ receivers (Montreal Office),

I was wondering if anyone who received a RQ and whose application is being processed in Montreal has heard anything back? Do you have any idea how long RQ applications will take to be processed? I was reading that in Toronto RQ applications will take 48 months, anyone has an idea about Montreal's RQ processing times? Thx.

I've heard Montreal reported to be faster like maybe 12-18 months, but don't remember exact number.

If you've received RQ you can just contact the call center, they'll quote it to you.

Easyrider, do you mean 12-18 Months since the day that you mail your application to them? (given you don't have any significant problem in your application)

Yes, it typically takes 12-14 or in some cases more months just to get in process. Montreal has one of the slowest offices among major cities.

Sorry, mixed up threads a bit.

It takes 12-14 months to get from application to "in process" now.

I also heard RQ is faster than in Toronto, somewhere between 12-18 months.

^ These are 2 separate timelines.

Thanks yingchencc for sharing this information.

1) What was the next step after you received the letter?
2) When do you expect to have your citizenship journey completed?

it took 24 months for me to receive the hearing letter after I submit the RQ.
Hearing adds even more time. Previously, most (if not all, I'm not 100% sure) RQ's required hearing.

Now it's more like a part of application process and hearing is not required after RQ.

I just received the letter for the hearing in the past few days, and I am going to see the judge next week.
I am not sure when I can get the citizenship.
Maybe after 1 or few months?
