Hey everyone, I have a question about banking...
We'll be moving in May to Toronto and my husband will be able to keep his job here in Denmark, as it's a work-from-home job. The money he earns from this will go towards paying our rent each month in Canada so it's important that a transfer is done quickly every month. He will get paid into his/our Danish bank account and it will need to be transferred to Canada... but what is the cheapest and fastest way to do this?
I've heard of XE.com but not known anyone personally who has used it so I don't know exactly how it works, and I notice they can take up to 15 business days to transfer money for you so that's not so great...
There's also PayPal but I don't want to pay them any fees and it will be a somewhat large amount so they will probably take a large chunk from it...
The last option I thought of was just finding a bank that does international transfers and sucking it up and paying the transfer fee every month. The fees can be very expensive but from what I can see, this is the fastest option. I've tried finding a bank here in Denmark that also has branches in Canada so transfers will be more straightforward, but from what I've seen there aren't any.
Does anyone have a better solution for bringing money monthly into Canada? Any advice you could give me would be GREATLY appreciated
