No. You do not need to update MIDI with new address since you already got your CSQ.

I have five questions regarding the federal stage:

1. I am wondering if I would need a new police certificate when I left my country 3 years ago? I have a police certificate but it is for 2013... never went back since.

2. I have both national ID and birth certificate (national id is expired a year ago!), do I need to send them both?

3. Do we need the translation and certified copy of the original for the following docs for the federal stage:

- Birth Certificate
- National ID
- Police Clearance

4. Do we need a police Clearance from Canada?!

5. What is self-addressing mailing label?

Thanks a lot!

You might want to post your questions in other post-CSQ threads to confirm.

1. As far as I know your 2013 PCC from your Country should work as it was generated after you left your home country.

2. I looked into Federal forms. Birth Certificate is mandatory. National ID details are optional.

3. Yes. You will need certified translated copied of all 3 documents.

4. No you do not need Clearance from Canada.

5. You can go to some dollar store and find adhesive labels and write your address by hand. Alternately , you can print out your address on A4 size paper and send it with application.

Hi,

1. I guess you need a certificate from your home country, it says something like the certificate must not be issued more than 6 months. but confirm it from this link (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/index.asp)

4. It's not mandatory but it is good to add it. You can check some agencies online that do it for you. It takes around $50 to receive it in 1-2 weeks from them. I dont know how long it takes from your local police station.

Good luck !!

For the country you currently live in, the police certificate must be issued no more than six months before you apply.

For countries where you have lived for six months or more, the police certificate must be issued after the last time you lived in that country.

If your certificate is in a language other than English or French, send it when you apply, along with the original copy of a translation done by a certified translator.

Thanks APPNOV2014NY for the correction. :)

My Qs. Is there anything about the duration of certificate in this situation?
My country mentions the duration of police check. Should it include all the years since you were 18 years old till the time you were last present there?
