mobile phone service

thanks to all for solving my queries..
we are safely landed in Canada two days ago and now to start for various procedures like SIN,bank account, license etc.
can anybody guide me for which mobile service we should go for??
our requirements are:
1. it shouldnt be very costly as smbdy suggested rogers but we found its quite expensive
2. as we have to live in basement,so there shouldnt be any range problem(sombdy said mobilecity n wind has this problem).
3. we have to make calls to India,so plan should include less call rates and more talktime to India.

kindly suggest me,as i am very much confused.

you can try fido, it is the same network as rogers so coverage won't be a problem but they have cheaper plans. avoid locking in to a contract, and for long distance to india try comwave or startec long distance. good luck in finding a phone provider.
