Dear All

I would like to know, am i eligible for FSW.

I am working as Plumber for ( 2years part time + 7months full time) without any plumbing qualifications, i have also done electronics n communications engineering which is irrelevant to plumbing.

i have posted this topic before and got mixed bag of information .will engineering degree be a problem if i go ahead for FSW.

I spoke to DAVID COHEN's staff they replied "yes you can apply doesn't matter if i don't have relevant plumbing qualifications" . Global Visas said "Yes as well" and wrokpermit.com said "No i cannot apply ".

still getting sort of mixed information .

Please please go through my case carefully and let me know what do you suggest.

Cheers

I am not an expert and it would be interesting to know the reasons behind the workpermit.com decision.
I think you have to go through the GUIDE carefully and count up your numbers to see if you qualify. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/EG72.asp
NOC 7251 is far from reaching the 1000 CAP, so that is a plus.
Visa Officers cannot take your education into consideration when making a decision on your work experience *unless it is a very specialized field.
Do you have 1 PAID, FULL TIME YEAR, or 1,950 hours total continuous work, if it was earned in a part time capacity in one of the NOC 29 categories?
Do you have sufficient IELTS marks?
Do you meet the minimum of 67 when you calculate your points?
Do you have proof of sufficient funds (your OWN MONEY)?

Hope I haven't left anything out....Good Luck.

My two cents worth:

Your NOC is fine, but here's a brief assessment based on the info you provided..

1. Education = 22 Points (Assuming you have a Three years Diploma OR a 4 years Degree). You do not have to have a course taken in Plumbing to be a Plumber, as long as you have over 1950 Hrs of paid experience.
2. Language = 16 (If you score 7.5 in Listening and 6.5 each in Reading, Writing, Speaking)
3. Work Experience = 15 (In your case, I'd count ONE YEAR plus)
4. Age = 10
5. Adaptability = 5 (If your Spouse is a Master Degree Holder OR you have Canadian Education for a year)

Total = 68 (If you are married and your spouse is a Master Degree Holder OR you have Canadian Education for a year) you will qualify. If you fall short anywhere in the analysis above, you will not be eligible to apply.
