Hi,

I need clarification on this issue. I am already working in Canada for the past 18 months on an OPEN WORK PERMIT. But when I was filling my express entry profile, I choose "YES" in the section that asks "if I have an offer letter from an employer in Canada". After my ITA when I was submitting the final PR application I was requested to provide an offer letter from my employer (Which I got and uploaded with my application) and I have submitted the final application since Feb 2020.

A few days ago a friend told me I was supposed to answer NO to that question because it was meant for those applying from outside Canada who have job offer from an employer.

Could someone please tell me if saying YES would lead to IRCC denying my application?

Your friend is wrong. Scroll down to the relevant section
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/express-entry/documents/offer-employment.html

That being said, I hope yours is relevant. But no, it's not just for people from abroad
While I was reading through the links you sent I noticed that they were referring to work permits for a specific NOC Type. Mine is an open work permit. Is that something I should take serious?
