I went through the same thing, the CIC cannot advise you whether to withdraw your application or not and will just tell you to wait. I waited 5 years with no news and various non committal answers, even doing an interview, I ended by withdrawing my application, reapplied, had my test after 2 months, just waiting for my oath now. To clarify I was ineligible by 15 days after recalculation

Thanks for sharing! I am just wondering if I can put in a request to withdraw and reapply right away without waiting for a withdrawal confirmation response from IRCC? Did you wait till your initial application was closed before resubmitting? thanks!

You have to wait for the confirmation of withdrawl, its pretty quick though

how long did it take to get withdrawal confirmation? did you reapply again? how was the process? can you please shed some light?
i am short of 6 days and will be withdrawing my application today,
just want to see if you got withdrawal notification and how long it took? also if you applied again was your process faster?

Hi, I can help answer as I just went through this process. I was short 3 days and I ended up withdrawing because waiting was pretty much a waste of time. I submitted my withdrawal via IRCC webform and immediately reapplied the same day. I DID NOT wait for the withdrawal confirmation and you don't have to wait as the agent will see both applications when they visit your file. They will see the request to cancel the previous one. This won't affect the processing of your new application. Once I reapplied my application took 2.5 months in total and I became a citizen a month ago. The newer applications are moving faster so you might be lucky. Goodluck.

Yes you have to reapply as if you were doing a new application so yes you'll have to write the test again.

Hy Rudi sorry to hear that just I want to know for how long you waited to see the judge, and why you waited 5 years that long.
I do have 5 days shortage and I’m wondering if I withdraw or start agin , because my case now I did my citizenship test and I passed a year from applying, your advice please !

@Ali Amadani you can't become a citizen unless you reapply... So better do that today than months or even years down the line.

I withdrew my application in November 2022 and reapplied at the same time. I wasn't notified that my withdrawal went through until May 2023. I took my citizenship test for my new application in August 2023 and am still waiting for a further response.

Sorry to hear that, had an interview last week telling me that I have miscalculation 3 days the thing is after a year from apply and after I got my citizenship test done and fingerprints, should I forward my application to a judge or start a new application !

Why not to see the judge, I had done the citizenship test and the fingerprints and passed a year from applying.

You should withdraw your previous application and start a new application. The judge will not approve you if you are short 3 days.
