Friends, i have recently come to Canada. I got my documents filled by some agent and i just realized that he missed to give my Son's name in the Family information sheet. I signed in the place where it says i dont have any children thinking that its about adopted and step children. It was my mistake not to read the document carefully. Can anyone suggest if we can make corrections to this form now. I would like to bring my spouse and kid ( 4 yrs) as my dependents. He is a US citizen by birth. I am afraid if i would be asked to go back saying that i had misrepresented my status. Kindly help to advice if there could be any correction forms that could be filled.

Thanks in advance.

Was your son mentioned anywhere else in the application? And did you submit the immigration photos of him, and have his medical done?
If you just missed his name on the "Additional Family Info" form, but everything else was correct, it might be OK.

Yes, i have landed on the 11th of Febraury. I am yet to apply for dependent visa for my wife and kid. I was gathering the documents for the same and found the copy of this family form where i didn't include his name. There was no other place/form where these details of the kid were asked. I was not asked for any photos as well. I would like to get this rectified so that he wont have problems entering Canada as my dependent. More over, i think he would not require a visa from India as he is a US citizen. But still he is my dependent and would be questioned at the visa processing and the POE. So i am afraid if this would be considered as misrepresenting. Not sure if they would ask me to leave for this reason. Kindly advice how to approach this problem. Can i fill the IMM 5645 once again and submit it for processing? Please advice.
Thank you.

Hmmm. I know it's an honest mistake, but because you have already landed, I don't think there is any way you can change the form.

Maybe you will need to go through Humanitarian and Compassinate grounds, but I'm not sure about it (maybe the experts here will help you better)

All I am positive about is that you will need a lawyer to help you out with this.

you will def. need a lawyer to help you with this, since not having included your kid in your initial application and having medical exams done for him may bar you from sponsoring the child forever. same goes for the spouse, hopefully for you that you did declare your spouse before you landed. what i can think of is sponsoring your spouse and then the spouse sponsoring the child, or sponsoring both together. either way i have this feeling in my gut that it won't be an easy case.

I recommand to talk with immigration lawyer; I know someone who didn,t do the same for his wife and took him 6 yrs to bring his wife after multiple refusal and appeal. So don,t do anything on rush, call cic , talk to lawyer. I am assuming u didn,t declare on that other main form either otherwise they wouldn,t accept ur medical. As spouse and childrens medical is mandatory ,either accompanying or not . IF you declare and did medical for spouse and children at the time of yours don,t worry about that form as it can be tken as human error, and just a clarification letter will do.

hi, if you have done this mistake for your spouse then that would be quite impossible to get him sponsored, but as they are your children, there is still issue on humanitarian ground , you would certainly need a lawyer to handle this

What kind of application did you get a PR visa with for yourself? The forms definitely ask for details of your spouse and any children. They should have had medicals done, and immigration photos supplied.
