Hi,

I am really worried and uncertain regarding this. So, any help would be appreciated.
I applied for the TRV for my husband last year and made a mistake on sister's birth year on the family information.
The TRV was not successful anyways because of the intent reason that he will not return etc. So no issues there.

Now as I am applying for a Spousal PR, I have noticed this mistake on his sister's birth year. It is supposed to be 1978 but by mistake in the previous application I put 1988.
What should I do now? I am worried about misrepresentation for this. Date and month is correct but year is wrong.

Send a short letter explaining the error with the new application.

i guess thats all I can do but I am worried that they may take it as misrepresentation but I genuinely mistakenly put the wrong year. How can I prove my genuineness on this?

It's only your word really. But by you notifying them before they find it, that shows your honest, and they look at the entire person rather than the incident. If this is the only mistake for example, it's more believable than if you have many "mistakes".

Just notify them ASAP, and you'll be fine.

It's clearly a typo, and a mistake from which you would have received no benefit of any kind (it would not have made IRCC look at the file differently, or at least I can't think of any possible reason it would have).

Nothing to worry about - just as suggested, correct and include note that previous application had wrong year, just a typo.
